Brigadoon Service Dogs We provide trained service dogs for individuals with physical, developmental & behavioral health disabilities.

Our fundamental values include:

Community Partnerships - We offer education for community members. We partner with four Washington State prisons as inmate-trainers work with our dogs. Accessibility - We primarily work with clients within 3 hours of Bellingham WA. We work with service members based out of Washington who have been diagnosed with PTSD or TBI, and we work with families who have young

children with disabilities. Service - We provide trained dogs to Veterans, children and adults with disabilities. We offer continued support long after the team graduates from our program. Sustainability - We strive for financial self-sufficiency.

Over the years, the Order of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter has left a lasting mark on Brigadoon—in more ways than one. 💛🐾

Through their generous support, they’ve had the opportunity to name four Brigadoon dogs: Benjamin, Sparkle, Star, and Searra.

Each of those names represents a unique dog, a different journey, and another chapter in Brigadoon’s mission.

This year, we are especially honored to have the Order of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter serving as the presenting sponsor of Paws to Celebrate.

We are honored to announce that Melissa and Whatcom County Courthouse facility dog Davie will be featured at this year’s Paws to Celebrate gala. 💛🐾

Melissa and Davie graduated from Brigadoon’s program in 2020. During the gala, guests will have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the role of a facility dog and the impact Davie has had in the lives of many.

We are incredibly grateful to Melissa for being willing to share her and Davie’s story.

Fun times at the Lynden Fair! 🎡🐾

We took a group of our dogs in training to the fair for a fun socialization outing! From navigating crowds and taking in all the new sights, sounds, and smells to encountering some very unique animals, our dogs got plenty of practice staying calm and focused alongside their handlers.

Lions, and tigers, and LOUIE! 🦁🐯🐾

Last week, Louie headed to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium as part of his advanced training!

Trips like this give our dogs the chance to experience all kinds of new sights, sounds, smells, and distractions while practicing the skills they’ll need as future service dogs. And with unusual animals, excited visitors, and plenty going on around him, the zoo certainly delivered!
