The MAD HOPE Youth Su***de Prevention & Mental Wellbeing Program will host a community training on June 8th!

This is an amazing opportunity to see their training curriculum as it is presented in local middle and high school classrooms. The training is designed for school staff, parents, and families of students that have received the training, potential MAD HOPE volunteers, and any other community member that wants to learn more about mental health, su***de prevention, and how to support youth in our community. We hope to see you there.

Most teens say they trust their parents or caregivers more than anyone when it comes to information and advice about drugs. So, talk to the teens in your life about fentanyl and about how experimenting with drugs can hurt them and their future. Remind them that true friends look out for one another and won't pressure them to take unsafe risks.

Here are a few ways to start the conversation:

➡ “Have you heard about a drug called fentanyl? What have you heard?”

➡ “I read an article/saw a video/heard a report about fentanyl and wanted to talk with you about it.”

➡ “If you ever have questions about fentanyl — or any drug — talk to me. It’s my job to help you stay safe and healthy.”

✨ We had such a wonderful evening celebrating community building at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal two weeks ago. We enjoyed tasty food from Calypso Kitchen, vital words from Dr. Greg Hammer, raffle prizes from all over Whatcom County, and the chance to connect with friends and peers. Thank you to our generous sponsors and everyone who attended the event. You make our community a better place for children and families, and you are so very worth celebrating! 🙌
