🐾 Meet Eddie (aka Eggnog!) 🐾
11 lbs | 9 years young | Neutered | Microchipped | House trained
Eddie is a tiny gentleman with a BIG personality—and one ear that does whatever it wants (we love a trendsetter).
This sweet and silly guy lives for walks, car rides, and treats… especially treats. While he’s proudly independent, he’ll occasionally choose your lap for snuggles and believes all large dog beds—and your couch—belong to him.
💛 Eddie’s Ideal Home:
• Quiet, calm environment
• No other pets
• No children or frequent young visitors
• Someone patient who will let him settle in at his own pace
Eddie has been through a lot, but he’s made incredible progress in foster care and learned how to trust again. He communicates through his behavior, so he’s looking for someone willing to listen, learn, and continue the structure that helps him feel safe.
⚠️ Eddie does have a fear-based bite history, so he needs an experienced, committed adopter who will respect his boundaries and continue his training.
🦴 His Must-Haves:
• Consistency and routine
• Ongoing medical care + special diet
• A safe space (crate)
• A human who will love him for who he is—quirks and all
Eddie isn’t a “perfect” dog—but he’s a special one. And for the right person, he’ll be an incredibly rewarding companion.
✨ Ready to give Eddie the calm, loving home he deserves?

Buttons is an 8 year old male Tuxedo who is chill and a most affectionate cat of great distinction. His dapper good looks perfectly complement his loving nature, soft chirrups and deep contented purrs. Buttons loves head scratches, brushing sessions and snuggling. Selecting a favorite toy to pounce on is a daily activity of choice.

Buttons would do well in a quiet home where he can fully express his laid back personality. Buttons is used to being the only pet in the home with a quiet senior adult, but may do well with friendly or disinterested other animals. Kittens or busy dogs and small children may overwhelm him.

Buttons is on a weight loss journey for his health, and his adopter must be committed to helping him shed more weight in order for him to live his best life. He is eating a prescription weight management diet and has a recommended feeding plan from his vet that we will share with his adopter.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Senior cats have an adoption fee of $100. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.

Introducing beautiful Starla; a year and a half old doodle that will instantly steal your heart. This lovely is UTD on her shots, recently got spayed and weighs around 40 lbs.

If you want a dog that will be your shadow and want constant cuddles, she is your gal. Her favorite day would be filled with cuddles(even while she sleeps) and walks with her humans.

Starla has two poodle traits; the first is that she loves to give hugs and the second is that she is bossy with dog sisters. She will be required puppy training to teach her not to jump up for hugs unless it is asked for and for also learning to be not so bossy with her doggie friends.

She's great with baths, patiently lets you wash and use the dryer. She does good with walks and her recall is excellent. She is also 100% potty trained and knows how to use the doggie door. She has not been around cats or farm animals but if they just ignore her, I'm sure she will be fine with them.

She is amazing with humans and loves everyone but she has not been around small children.

Starla would do great as a single dog as long as her humans are ready to give her endless love. She would also do well with another dog but would need to learn boundaries around her bossiness. (for example, if the other dog growls at her, she doesn't back down)

If you are interested in applying for Starla, fill out an SOI. Her adoption fee is $425.00 plus requirement for training. https://alternativehumanesociety.com/statement-of-interest-dog/

Introducing Queen Tinkerbell!

Tinkerbell is 14 years young and walks with the air of a gentle sovereign. She’ll sit regally and stare up at you, a black void with big, beautiful eyes and delicate facial features. She is also one of the sweetest cats in the world. When she would like attention, she will come up to you, tap a paw gently on your arm, and give a soft “meow”. Tinkerbell loves to snuggle and will find her way onto your bed at night, lay one paw on your hand and go quietly to sleep. When you wake up, she will greet you with a gentle “meow” and then patiently wait while you go through your morning routine.

Tinkerbell loves to be with people and snuggles at every opportunity. She purrs loudly and happily when petted and held. She doesn’t play fiercely but will sometimes get interested in a toy dangling in front of her. Everything about her is gentle and kind.

Tinkerbell needs daily brushing as she has trouble grooming her back due to her size. She appreciates the attention and scratches from the brushing. She also cannot jump to high surfaces like counters but will hop onto the couch and will hop/climb up on to the bed. She loves sunbeams and watching the birds and squirrels through the window. Mostly she wants to curl up next to you and be together.

Tinkerbell would do great in a home with adults and children old enough to be respectful of a senior cat’s quieter nature. She would be an amazing companion cat for someone who is home most of the time and wants a loving friend to stay near them. Reach out to meet her and find the amazing magic this gorgeous black cat has - the ability to steal your heart fur-ever!

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Senior cats have an adoption fee of $100. Looking for a pair of best friends to fill your home with love? Bandit and Smoky are a bonded duo who are ready to find their forever family together.

Bandit is the confident, outgoing half of this handsome pair. He’s curious, affectionate, and always interested in what his people are up to. Smoky is a gorgeous gray floof with a gentle soul. While he’s a little more reserved at first, he’s incredibly sweet, loves to chat with his favorite humans, and enjoys playtime with his brother.

Together, they strike the perfect balance—Bandit’s confidence helps Smoky feel secure, and Smoky’s gentle nature keeps Bandit grounded. They love playing, lounging, and sharing life’s adventures side by side. These boys are happiest together and are looking for a home that will welcome both of them.

These bonded brothers are looking for someone to cherish them. It can be a house with respectful kids, or a calm single older dog, but cats and chaos are too much for them. They need quiet routine and predictable schedules to be happy.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats an

~~THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER AT [email protected] FOR MORE INFORMATION. THANK YOU~~

Nova is a 1 year and 8 months old American Bully Mix who is 50lbs and of medium height. She is up to date on shots but not yet spayed.

Nova is very loving, smart and socialized to people, kids and dogs. Even though she’s been around younger children, we feel she would do better with being the center of attention in the home.

Nova can be very territorial in her yard and in the house when she sees other people and dogs through the fence or a window, but not every time.

She has not been in close contact with cats and will bark at them.

Nova can be stubborn but is very food driven so we believe that with the right training and consistency, that she has a lot of potential.

Nova is house/potty trained since she was a puppy. But she is still kenneled when we are away from the home as she likes to chew the kids' toys and food off counters in reach.

She is very active and loves walks. She is leash trained but does excessively pull still. She can be an escape artist if she gets the opportunity, and when she does she thinks it’s a game of catch me if you can. She will come back for treats normally but does like a good chance to explore.

Nova has had 2 skin flare ups in the past and is currently eating a trout and rice blend kibble from Nutri-Source for food.

If there are any questions or something you specifically want to know about Nova please let me know.

🌟🐾 Senior Spotlight: Buttons & Tinkerbell 🐾🌟

Some cats spend their golden years slowing down. Buttons and Tinkerbell are spending theirs perfecting the art of companionship. ❤️

🎩 Buttons (8 years young) is a distinguished tuxedo gentleman with impeccable manners, a deep purr, and a love for head scratches, brushing sessions, and cozy snuggles. Whether he’s selecting the toy of the day or curling up beside his favorite person, Buttons brings warmth and affection wherever he goes. He’s looking for a peaceful home where his laid-back personality can truly shine.

🖤 Tinkerbell (14 years young) is a gentle queen with a heart as beautiful as her striking black coat. She’ll politely tap your arm when she’d like attention, greet you with sweet little meows, and happily spend her days curled up beside you. Her favorite things include sunbeams, bird watching, bedtime cuddles, and reminding you that sharing your dinner is always worth considering.

Both of these wonderful seniors have a little extra care involved—Buttons is continuing his weight-loss journey, and Tinkerbell enjoys a special kidney-support diet and daily brushing—but what they give in return is priceless: unconditional love, companionship, and all the gentle magic that only senior cats seem to possess.

If you’ve ever thought about opening your heart to a senior pet, Buttons and Tinkerbell are ready to show you just how special those golden years can be. ✨

✨ Meet Lorenzo — Your Tiny, Devoted Adventure Buddy ✨
Looking for a loyal little companion with a big heart? Meet Lorenzo, a 2.5‑year‑old Chihuahua mix weighing just 10 pounds. Small in size but big in personality, this little guy is full of love and ready to find his person.
Lorenzo is the total package: microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and a graduate of Houndsman Canine Academy. He’s put in the work and it shows—he’s fully potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, knows commands like sit, responds to his name, and happily comes when called (or even whistled for!).
Like many Chihuahuas, Lorenzo is a sensitive and thoughtful little dog. Big changes can make him nervous, and he takes a daily dose of gabapentin to help him feel calm and comfortable. With consistency, patience, and a predictable routine, Lorenzo truly thrives. Once he trusts you, he becomes incredibly affectionate, deeply loyal, and wonderfully devoted—he bonds closely and loves wholeheartedly.
This little guy has a fun, playful side too! Lorenzo LOVES to play and especially enjoys a good game of fetch. He does great with other small dogs who match his playful energy, and he can also live with confident, dog-savvy cats. Larger dogs, however, make him nervous, so he’ll do best in a home without big dogs.
💛 About his bite history:
Lorenzo has had bite incidents in the past that were fear-based and situational, occurring when he was suddenly woken up and startled. Being abruptly awakened can be frightening for a small, sensitive dog, and his response was defensive rather than aggressive. With simple awareness—like letting him wake naturally or gently alerting him before touching—this behavior is very manageable. He has not shown bite behavior outside of these specific situations.
Because of this, he will do best in a calm, adult-only home with adopters who understand canine body language and can provide structure, routine, and continued confidence-building.
💛 Lorenzo’s ideal home includes:
*A calm, predictable environment
*Adults or experienced dog owners
*No large dogs
*Consistency and gentle routines (especially around rest/sleep)
*Opportunities for playtime (he loves fetch!)
*Patience as he continues building confidence
In return, Lorenzo will give you something truly special—a loyal companion who will adore you completely.
🐾 Interested in adopting Lorenzo?
Please fill out a Statement of Interest on the Alternative Humane Society website.
Give this sweet, deserving boy the understanding and stability he needs—he’s ready to give you his whole heart. 💕
