“When I think of WWU Hillel, I think of the word “community.” It's really nice to have a community on campus I can dip into weekly. My first year was really hard socially, and having a place to go and be a part of really helped. I've felt very welcome in the Hillel community here, and I've had a great time learning about Jewish customs and practices. I never felt judged for asking questions or not knowing what something is. I've learned a lot about Jewish observances and norms. This year was my first time ever observing the Yom Kippur fast and participating in Purim. If it weren't for the Hillel community, I don't think I would have the confidence or know-how to participate in those activities."
