Hi everybody!

We've had some fun spring events so far this quarter, including mezuzah making, knitting, and Falafel Feasting.

Join us for fun events for Shavuot!

Today we're having a talk with Rabbi Samuels at WWU on the Jewish Holiday and Festival Cycle (plus we'll have bagels and cream cheese), and on Shabbat we're having a learning of The book of Ruth with Andrea Shupack at a park (plus a picnic)!

Hello community! đź‘‹

Hillel WWU has not been active on Facebook in a long time, but we are here to start sharing information about our events. Our primary and updated platforms are Instagram (hillelwwu) and our weekly newsletter on which we share events, post podcast recommendations from readers, and other information. (Write to us at [email protected] to receive our newsletter!) We will also use this page for some of our highlights.

We have weekly Bagel Brunches, Bimonthly home-cooked Shabbat dinners, and other events. Please stay in the loop. If you are a student at WWU or at a college in Bellingham, we'd love to see you. All are welcome to all our events.

We are also looking for new board members! If you are interested, you can visit this link: https://forms.gle/WH2J3zxwajVXk7ND7

It’s day 2 of Hillel Global Giving Week, and right now, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000 ensuring that students have access to transformative leadership opportunities and immersive Jewish experiences.

At Hillel of Western Washington University, we don’t just build community—we build leaders. Students who engage with Hillel today become the Jewish changemakers of tomorrow. Will you help fuel the future of Jewish leadership today?

Lili, Class of 2027 shares:

“When I think of WWU Hillel, I think of the word “community.” It's really nice to have a community on campus I can dip into weekly. My first year was really hard socially, and having a place to go and be a part of really helped. I've felt very welcome in the Hillel community here, and I've had a great time learning about Jewish customs and practices. I never felt judged for asking questions or not knowing what something is. I've learned a lot about Jewish observances and norms. This year was my first time ever observing the Yom Kippur fast and participating in Purim. If it weren't for the Hillel community, I don't think I would have the confidence or know-how to participate in those activities."
