We are in love with Penstemon. They are long-lived, critter-resistant, easy-care plants that prefer sun and good drainage, giving you months of flowers. We planted Penstemon 'Enor' in the Bellevue Botanical Garden Perennial Border in June, and it's still showing off.

Join NPA for Spring Ephemerals, a hands-on planting workshop!

Spring ephemerals are those fleeting woodland bloomers that light up the garden before the tree canopy leafs out. At this workshop, you'll plant your own biodegradable bag with soil and a curated mix of bulbs and corms, then take it home. Pop the whole thing straight into your garden bed or tuck it into a decorative ceramic pot for a porch or patio display.
