I just want to take a moment to give a huge shout out to everyone who has supported Abe's Legacy Farm Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation . The out-pours of love, support, and donations, are what keeps us going, and doing what we do. I know you have been patiently awaiting the status of Ben, and it has taken me some time to muster up the strength to type this.
We regret to inform all of you, that the outcome of his surgery, was not at all what we were expecting. Ben has been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. What this is, is essentially a very aggressive form of cancer, and is hence forth not treatable as it will continue to spread across his body. He has a poor prognosis, and our Veterinarian does not anticipate him making a full recovery from this. Our time with Ben could be anywhere from a week to a year, before the cancer returns, and at that point we make the difficult decision to humanely euthanize. Ben will not be available for adoption, and will instead, live out the rest of his time here on the farm surrounded by his herd, and all the love and life we can give, until we say our goodbyes. This was not easy for us, and again, we absolutely appreciate every single one of you for your help during this journey, and will continue to carry Ben until the end. Thank you all so much.
