“While driving through Bellevue with my 10th grader last week, I was struck by an analogy for the difference Bellevue Schools Foundation makes.
When choosing a home, we look at the walls and roof first and then to the surrounding area: the parks, libraries, community gardens, sports fields, and neighbors who show up for one another.
🏠 A home keeps us safe and dry.
🏡🛝 The neighborhood is where children and families grow up well and thrive.
Bellevue Schools work similarly. State funding builds the house (teachers, classrooms, core curriculum), but public funding isn’t enough.
🎓 The margin of excellence that uplifts a good school to a great one depends on private dollars. It depends on us.
