WASEIA is a professional trade association for the Washington solar industry. Solar supports 3,700 family-wage jobs in Washington, and counting.

Washington Solar Energy Industries Association (WASEIA) is a professional trade association established in October 2013 as Solar Installers of Washington to be a unified voice for the common business interests of its members, particularly related to public policy, legislation, and governmental relations. WASEIA educates legislators and regulators while promoting public understanding about the impacts of policies related to solar energy inside the State of Washington. WASEIA also represents the interests of Washington-based solar installers in conversations with manufacturers, distributors, and other organizations that routinely interact with its members. WASEIA intends to be a virtual organization relying upon the active involvement of its members in conference calls, virtual meetings and timely electronic communication.

VICTORY! The Washington Supreme Court ruled 6–3 to strike down Initiative 2066 in its entirety!

WASEIA was proud to serve as a named plaintiff in this lawsuit alongside Climate Solutions, Sierra Club, Washington Conservation Action, Front and Centered, Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility, King County, the City of Seattle, and Dwell Development.

As WASEIA Executive Director Phaedra Beckert stated:
“Today’s decision provides needed clarity for Washington’s clean energy businesses and the customers we serve... Washington’s solar and storage industry is ready to keep investing, creating jobs and helping families and businesses access clean, reliable energy.”

With I-2066 struck down, Washington can keep moving forward with clean energy, energy efficiency, and lower utility bills for families and businesses.

On May 15, the Washington Solar Energy Industries Association (WASEIA) hosted its inaugural Policy Retreat to better support the evolving needs of our state's solar and storage industry.

To tackle growing regulatory, utility, and legislative complexities, WASEIA is introducing a new, cross-functional Policy Lane Structure:

- Policy & Legislative: State-level advocacy and tracking legislation.
- Utilities & Regulatory: Interconnection modernization and utility engagement.
- Energy Code: Building codes and technical standards.
- Communications & Outreach: Member communication and public advocacy.
