Before the holiday rush begins, we’re pulling up a chair for our community. 🍽️💙

Join Mayarde’s Helping Hands for our Pre-Thanksgiving Community Feeding on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. All are welcome, because no one should feel forgotten during a season centered on gratitude, family, and togetherness.

On the menu:

🍗 Turkey and ham
🍚 Rice
🧀 Macaroni and cheese
🥦 Mixed vegetables
🥖 Rolls
🧁 Cupcakes
🍎 Fresh fruit
💧 Bottled water
🥤 Assorted juice and soda

The location will be announced soon, so save this post, turn on your notifications, and share it with someone who may need a warm meal and a welcoming place to gather.

They may call it a short term. History will call it a first.

From the classroom to the school board and now the halls of Congress, Dr. Everton Blair Jr.’s journey sends a powerful message to every Black LGBTQ+ child who has ever questioned whether there was room for them to lead.

There is room. There has always been room.

Representation will not solve every problem overnight, but it changes who is seen, whose voice is heard, and what the next generation believes is possible.

Congratulations, Congressman-elect Blair. Your time in this seat may be brief, but the door you opened will remain open long after your term ends.
