Happy 47th birthday to 7 Stages our home for eons 🥳

Happy 47th birthday to ... 7 Stages!

Since 1979, 7 Stages Theatre has brought local, national, and international emerging artwork of social, political, and spiritual importance to Atlanta audiences. For over 40 years, artists of all kinds have found 7 Stages to be a haven in the support and development of new works and methods of collaboration. We’re also a rental house, meaning lots of theatre companies around Atlanta and beyond can rent our space for their productions!

Essential Theatre Playwriting Award winner Lauren Gunderson has made the list of “Most Produced Playwrights” every year for the past ELEVEN years! What an incredible achievement. Congratulations, Lauren! 🎭👏🎉

Kimberly Belflower’s popular drama will be the most-produced play in the 2026-27 season (apart from ‘A Christmas Carol’), and Wilson will be the most-produced author (aside from Shakespeare).

Hurray! 🎉 Today we celebrate the wonderful Carter Bevis, our ever-pleasant Box Office Manager! 🎭

For more than 25 years, Carter has been welcoming audiences across Atlanta, selling tickets, ushering, and making theater experiences better. We are so lucky she makes Essential her annual home and even luckier to have her on our team.

Happy Birthday, Carter! We’re so grateful for you! ❤️
