This week, we officially kicked off the second cohort of our Synthe6 Materials Accelerator! Cohort members across the 15 selected companies met at Bounce to meet their fellow founders and share a brief presentation.

We are excited to follow the growth of these companies over the next year as they work together with mentors, potential investors, and industry experts through the Greater Akron Chamber Polymer Industry Cluster as part of the accelerator.

Running a business rarely goes exactly according to plan.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll work with peers to tackle a real-world business challenge, make decisions with incomplete information, and adapt when unexpected “plot twists” change the situation. Through creative activities, role-playing and problem-solving, you’ll practice responding to uncertainty, trusting your judgment and making decisions when there is no obvious right answer.

Happy 1-year Bounce Anniversary to Kabylia Baguette!

Over the past year, founders Nourdine & Hilary have worked tirelessly to provide not only Bounce but the Downtown Akron community with a new staple for coffee, pastries, and other delicious offerings. After a year of hard work serving our guests, staff, and community, Nourdine & Hilary are travelling on a much-deserved vacation. Starting Monday, October 12, Kabylia Baguette will temporarily scale back its hours & operations in their absence.

Their temporary hours will be 7AM-3PM Monday-Thursday and their offerings will be limited to their full drink menu, grab-and-go cooler drinks, and a selection of treats. To stay up to date on their travels and subsequent return, you can follow Kabylia Baguette on their Instagram for direct updates. Official Bounce channels will also share relevant updates to Kabylia’s hours & service.

Thank you for your understanding. We wish Nourdine & Hilary the best in their travels, and we look forward to their return to Bounce and the incredible baked goods that will follow!

Bounce Innovation Hub has received a grant from the Nasdaq Foundation’s 2026 Economic Opportunity Grant Program to expand entrepreneurial programming across Northeast Ohio.

The grant will help Bounce expand the founder support systems that move entrepreneurs from early-stage ideas to investment readiness. As a hub for the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Bounce helps entrepreneurs navigate a coordinated network of resources across Northeast Ohio. Through sector-focused programs in healthcare, advanced materials, and software, entrepreneurs receive one-on-one coaching, technical assistance, and educational workshops. They also gain connections to professional service providers, customers, and capital.

“This grant will play a pivotal role in our work to bolster the economic prosperity across Northeast Ohio and throughout the state,” said Jessica Sublett, Bounce Innovation Hub President and CEO. “We are honored to be recognized by a transformational institution like the Nasdaq Foundation.”

The Nasdaq Foundation’s strategic grants expand access to capital, business ownership, and financial education in communities experiencing chronic underinvestment.
