This Memorial Day, the Interstitial Cystitis Association honors and remembers the brave service members who gave their lives for our country.

We also recognize the veterans, military families, and loved ones in our community who carry their legacy forward. Today, we pause with gratitude, reflection, and respect.

If you live with IC/BPS, you may have turned to social media for answers, support, or connection, and you’re not alone.

A new study found that Facebook often serves as a patient-driven space for discussion, while Instagram is more commonly used by healthcare professionals to raise awareness. But the study also found that much of the IC/BPS information shared online lacked scientific accuracy.

This is an important reminder: online support can be valuable, but it’s essential to pair community experiences with trusted, evidence-based information.

The ICA is committed to sharing reliable research, education, and resources for the IC/BPS community. We recently covered this article in our research newsletter.
