This week we celebrated Pro Bono Month in Youngstown and Warren at our Pizza for Pro Bono lunchtime events. It's been great for our staff to meet new colleagues and connect with longtime volunteers.

We're halfway through our celebration of Pro Bono Month! Attorneys in Medina, Stark, Trumbull and Mahoning counties have enjoyed lunch on us and a free CLE on Pro Bono and Professionalism.

Today we marked Purple Thursday to honor survivors, remember victims, and show that people affected by domestic and intimate partner violence are not alone. On Friday, Nov. 6, Summit County residents can find free legal help at the next Summit County Pro Bono Collaborative clinic. Staffed by local attorneys volunteering their time and started by Summit County Common Pleas Court Judges Joy Malek Oldfield and Jennifer D. Towell, the clinic provides help on issues such as child custody/visitation and child support, collections, driver's license suspensions, evictions/foreclosures, expungements, and more. We are grateful to the legal team at Goodyear for their partnership! They recently welcomed us to their Akron headquarters to provide a continuing legal education presentation on the need for legal aid in our communities. Several of the Goodyear attorneys also shared their positive experiences as pro bono volunteers. Goodyear's legal staff has volunteered at our monthly virtual expungement and record sealing clinic for over 6 years, handling an average of 115 cases per year. Their legal team has spent countless hours helping low-income individuals obtain jobs, housing and financial stability. Thank you, Goodyear! 👏👏

Our Veterans Assistance Project will be at Western Reserve Hospital's annual Veterans Day Luncheon on Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium. Veterans, their families, and members of the community are welcome to attend to celebrate the service, sacrifice, and dedication of our nation's heroes.
