THIS IS WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MAKES POSSIBLE
Because of the generosity of our supporters, The Carmen Generial Charity is proud to share that three more vehicles are on their way to Ukraine — where they will help protect and save lives when they are needed most.
Alongside these vehicles is vital aid, including hats and scarves hand-knitted with love by mother and daughter, Pat and Kathryn Smith. Each item includes a handwritten message of support, reminding those who receive them that they are not forgotten.
This is the circle of life in action. Through The Carmen Generial Charity, vehicles that once served communities here are now continuing their journey — living on to save lives in Ukraine.
We were also deeply honoured at The Carmen Generial Charity to help fulfil a final and heartfelt wish.
John Kevill’s mum sadly passed away, and her dying wish was for her Chrysler Jeep to be donated to help the people of Ukraine. Thanks to The Carmen Generial Charity, her vehicle is now bringing hope, help, and life-saving support where it’s needed most.

🚐 First Mobile Medical Unit Safely Delivered to Ukraine! 🇺🇦
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Liveryman Bill Hiron and the teamwork of the Carmen General Charity , The first of two converted mobile medical units has now made its way safely into Ukraine—ready to provide vital healthcare support to those in need.
Originally built from a former Stephenson’s of Essex, bus fleet, this optare Solo bus was transformed before the pandemic into a mobile vaccination and doctor’s unit—complete with a waiting area, examination room, and medical equipment.
After years in storage, the bus was reacquired back by Liveryman Bill Hiron, The Stephensons workshop team fully serviced it in readiness for it trip, It was then donated to the Carmen, who loaded with medical aid, before sending it off to Ukraine.
🚛 Driven across Europe by our volunteer Mike Hockham —who took four days at 50 mph—the journey was not without its customs challenges at Poland, but the bus didn’t skip a beat. A vehicle designed for short town trips has now delivered hope across borders.
We’re just ordinary people doing what we can—thanks to your donations. Together, we're getting vehicles on the road and aid to where it's desperately needed.
🙏 Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible—especially Bill Hiron and the Carmen support team.
➡️ Now we need your help to get the next vehicle on the road.

On Wednesday Bryan an American veteran who is volunteering in Ukraine flue in to Stansted air port and meet up with Olena from Canada who is also volunteering in Ukraine.
They then made their way to Lodge Coaches and picked up a Navra on behalf of the Carmen and took it to Ukraine, Stopping off in Germany to pick up some aid.
By Saturday they had crossed the boarded in to Ukraine, they had been driving for about an hour when the clutch decided it had enough and the car sat at the side of the road unable to move. They had a 20 minute walk to civilization, once there a local restraint owner arranged to tow the vehicle to his restaurant.
Its then Thunder Birds are GO. Supper hero Tom Tilly who has taken countless cars to Ukraine for the Carmen, was due to take a Volvo to Ukraine loaded to aid the very next day. He whips around his local parts dealers and picks up a clutch and flywheel, squeezes in some tools in to the Volvo and 2 hours later is on his way to Ukraine, not to deliver the parts but also change the clutch and flywheel in the Car Park.
We’re just ordinary people doing what we can — delivering vehicles and aid, driving across borders, your donations that make the extraordinary possible.
Please help us get the next vehicle on the road and make the next delivery count.
