💚REHOMING APPEAL - TRACY💚

Tracy’s 3 kittens are being rehomed over the weekend, she is being spayed early next week and then she’ll be ready for her forever home. At only around 2 it’s time for her to re-live her lost youth.

She is currently with our wonderful foster Hannah who said:

Tracy’s job as a Mama is complete. Whilst a little timid to start with she has a beautiful soul and a beautiful heart and loves to chat. She has a typical cat meow but also has a chatting voice in a completely different tone. She is a gentle girl just learning how to relax and feel safe in her environment. She is startled by loud noises but that’s to be expected when you’ve never known safety, she will come to the sound of a soothing voice once comfortable the ‘danger has passed’. She is a wee angel.

Rehoming criteria and info:

💚Fine with older kids above 11 or so or an adult only home.
💚Fine with other pets with the usual slow introductions.
💚Indoor only but access to a catio or completley cat proof garden.
💚Microchipped, spayed, flea & worm treated.
💚Vaccines to be done only once completely settled in the new home. These can be done at our vets.
💚Available to adopt from our rescue in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

Joey & Paddy really really need a lovely new home together but sadly there isn’t the slightest bit of interest in them 💔

We are running out of time to find them a home or we’ll have to find another crate and bring them in here. 5 years in a quiet home to a rescue with over 130 cats and kittens could you imagine their stress 💔

Somebody somewhere must want to adopt them😿

Last Friday we launched our scheme but never did we anticipate how bad it was out there or how much we were going to be stretched.

In the past week we have:

✅Trapped 46 cats and kittens from 2 locations
✅Issued 70 neutering vouchers for 49 females and 21 males.
✅Approved a further 31 vouchers on a priority 2 list.
✅Are aware that 23 neuters/spays have already been carried out.
✅Had multiple vet trips and operations including an eye removal.
✅Lost count of how many litter trays we have changed, bowls that have been washed and our washing machine needs a holiday.

All of that is on top of the normal day to day admin, messages, rehoming and so on. It is incredibly busy, we have lots more applications for neutering to review. Identified several more TNRs that are needed and have lots of messages to get through.

All of our volunteers have really pulled together this week which has been fantastic. Then we’ve had people help with transport etc. We are all exhausted but very proud, what an achievement for our little rescue.

None of this would be possible without all our wonderful supporters. Keep sharing, keep educating and if you can afford it keep donating. We are all volunteers, we have no wage bills or fancy premises to pay rent on. Every £1 really is going to help cats and kittens.

💙GUS - REHOMED💙

What a lovely message to have received from Rosemary today who adopted Gus from us earlier this. The pictures were too cute not to share.

I see you have a lot of hardship going on 😔 so just wanted to give you a quick Gus update. He's getting more confident all the time and is loving exploring the farm now. He is so settled and thinks he's one of the children/a dog as he has become best friends with our in-laws collie who also live on the farm. He follows us wherever we go and comes back home when we call his name. We're just so delighted with him, a real part of our family 💙

🧡MINNIE🧡

This is one of many cats already neutered since we launched our scheme on Friday. Anna contacted us to apply for our scheme. The cat she has named Minnie arrived in the area 6 months ago and had kittens in a box by the families door. When they realised and went to catch her to take care of her & the kittens she bit so badly a trip to A&E was required and treatment for severe infection. That night a male cat came and took every kitten. This a reality male cats will kill kittens.

Anna borrowed a trap, caught her this morning then Parklands Vet Group - Cookstown spayed her and she now back. They have a crate for her and will try and tame her.

No poor kittens for Minnie and a brighter future ahead. This is why this scheme is so vital. Your donations are helping us help cats like Minnie. The kitten cycle is thankfully broken for her. Anna is also going to tray and trap the males to get them neutered.
