Akhilesh had suffered deeply, both physically and mentally. His story echoes the story of so many people affected by leprosy. When health deteriorates we need community around us, but persons affected by leprosy often experience stigma and rejection.

Our healthcare work covers:
✅️ Case detection
✅️Awareness
✅️Treatment and management of complications.

It contributes the important elements of zero transmission and disability through early case detection and management of leprosy complications. Healthcare projects operate across 19 districts📍, including all endemic areas identified by the National Leprosy Programme.

Around 55 percent of national leprosy cases are detected by TLM Bangladesh projects‼️

The Leprosy Mission’s DBLM Hospital serves as a specialised reliable centre for leprosy complication management that offers holistic care nationwide.

Our research teams are proudly contributing to international efforts to find the best combination of antibiotics to prevent leprosy (known as PEP++). 🔬
