We’re delighted to welcome 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 to the team!

Rhys is from Newtownabbey and is currently studying 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 at Ulster University Belfast 🎓

During his placement year, Rhys is looking forward to gaining valuable experience in a professional environment and putting the communication skills he has developed through his degree into practice.

Outside of work, Rhys is a big sports fan, particularly football, golf and the NFL, and enjoys playing both football and golf. He’s also a trained barista who loves making coffee at home and is a huge country music fan! ⚽☕🤠

𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 🙌🏻

Congratulations to RUAS member 𝐃𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 on his recent appointment as President of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists of Ireland.

Tom is a familiar face for many in the local agricultural sector and continues to write for the Irish Farmers’ Journal weekly📝

Commenting on his election as President, Tom said, “I’m very happy, very honoured. Quite astounded actually to have got to this stage in my career, my rather long career, but very, very pleased to take up the position.”

Both the Northern and Southern Sections of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists, support journalists, editors, public relations and marketing professionals in the agri-media sector to network, inspire, inform and learn👏🏻

It is with great sadness that we reflect on the passing of our dearest colleague, Ashleigh McGrugan.

Bubbly, vivacious and a lover of life, Ashleigh had the ability to light up any room with her infectious smile, genuine warmth, and captivating humour.

Her charismatic personality made her an unforgettable face for those who had the privilege to work alongside her, and we know that her loss will be deeply felt by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends at this very sad time.

As a mark of respect, the RUAS Office will be closed on Thursday 3rd September.

The Eikon Exhibition Centre was as busy as ever at the weekend as they hosted the Elanco AHV 23rd Northern Ireland HYB Multi Breed Calf Show on Saturday 22nd August 🐄🥇

RUAS President, Mr David Cunningham, was invited and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the event, meeting and chatting with exhibitors, organisers, judges, young handlers and the many family members and supporters who came along to cheer them on 🤩

A brilliant day celebrating family, farming and future stars of the show ring! 🐮

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬’ 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🏇

Friday night was all about giving back to the incredible volunteer stewards who give their time and support to the Balmoral Show each year. Quite simply, we would be lost without them! 💚

We enjoyed a brilliant evening at Down Royal Racecourse, complete with our very own virtual Night at the Races. There was plenty of craic, lots of laughs and some fantastic prizes throughout the night – from winning jockeys to Best Dressed! 🏆🐎

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such an enjoyable evening. Most importantly, 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to all our volunteer stewards for everything you do for the RUAS and the Balmoral Show – your support is truly invaluable 👏🏻
