On Saturday, the Downtown Community Choir had the privilege of performing at the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Mayorโ€™s Carnival Parade โ€” a day filled with colour, creativity, connection and community spirit ๐Ÿ’œ

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œA City That Sees Everyone,โ€ was such a meaningful reminder of the importance of inclusion and ensuring people with disabilities feel seen, represented, valued and welcomed within every part of community life.

As a choir, we see first-hand how music can bring people together, break down barriers and create spaces where everyone belongs. Being part of a celebration centred around visibility, accessibility and community was something truly special ๐Ÿฅฐ

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the event, cheered from the crowds and helped make the day so memorable. Weโ€™re proud to have been part of a city celebrating everyone. ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽถ

The Downtown Community Choir is proud to be part of a day that brings people together through music, fun and connection.

Weโ€™ll be performing on the main stage in Wallace Park at 2PM and would love to see some familiar faces in the crowd ๐Ÿ’œ

A special visit to Drumlough Care Home ๐Ÿ’›

Alongside our choir performance, we were delighted to donate dementia fidget blankets, cuffs and comfort dolls, lovingly made by our knitting group as part of their Create and Donate project ๐Ÿงถ

It was so special to share not just music, but comfort, colour and connection with residents ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’›

If you would like to get involved with this outreach project, our knitting group meets Thursdays 12-1pm โ˜บ๏ธ
