Empower 2 Transform at Lisburn YMCA is a six-month programme supporting young people aged 14-24 who are not currently in full-time education, employment or training and want to make positive change within themselves, and their communities.

The programme helps young people build confidence, develop new skills and take positive steps towards their future.

🌟 Are you, or do you know, a young person aged 14–24 who could benefit from extra support?

The E2T Project at Lisburn YMCA is actively recruiting throughout the year!

Designed for young people who may be struggling with education, employment, training, or other life challenges, E2T provides a supportive environment to build confidence, develop new skills, and work towards positive futures.

Participants will:
✅ Gain a Level 2 OCN qualification (GCSE equivalent)
✅ Develop employability, confidence, and wellbeing skills
✅ Take part in trips, activities, and team-building experiences
✅ Receive 1-to-1 support
✅ Complete volunteering opportunities
✅ Plan and deliver a community Social Action Project

📍 Sessions run Tuesday–Thursday, 11:00am–3:30pm at Lisburn YMCA.

📢 Meet the Lisburn YMCA Empower 2 Transform Team and Project!

Our goal is simple: support young people aged 14–24 across the Lisburn & Castlereagh area to build confidence, gain skills, and shape their future. Through this programme we work alongside young people every step of the way, helping them discover their strengths and opportunities.

✨ What is Empower 2 Transform?
It’s a 6-month programme designed for young people who may not currently be in education or full-time employment and want support figuring out their next steps.

Over the six months participants will:

📖 Gain a Level 2 OCN qualification (equivalent to a GCSE)
🧩 Take part in workshops on employability, mental health, resilience and more
🎲 Enjoy exciting activities like residential trips, visiting the Belfast Peace Wall, museum tours, bowling, laser tag, arts & crafts and more
🌎 Plan and complete a Social Action Project to give back to their community
👩‍🔧 Gain volunteering experience to explore the world of work
🤝 Receive one-to-one support throughout the journey

Most importantly, it’s about building confidence, making friends, trying new things and discovering what’s possible!
