October is Cholesterol Awareness Month - did you know that eating at least 4 portions of beans, peas or lentils can lower cholesterol and improve long term heart health? With the colder weather rolling in, a curry is a wonderfully warming way to boost your nutrition.

Come along and join us for a delicious and nutritious selection of curries at the Community Lunch. Food will be served at 12:30pm at Murrayburn St Nicholas Church tomorrow. See you there!

Last week, Rebecca and a small group went on a tram trip to see the Knife Angel in Leith. The group were taken aback at the impact of the piece and found it a meaningful visit.

We made sure to enjoy a coffee and each other's company afterwards before getting the tram home. What a delightful afternoon!

The Knife Angel will be leaving Edinburgh tomorrow (30th Sept) so you still have a chance to pop down to Leith for a visit if you are interested. Read more about it here: https://www.britishironworkcentre.co.uk/national-anti-violence-uk-tour/

We would love to introduce you to Kayleigh, the newest member of the team:

"I’m really excited to be joining B healthy together as a Community Development Worker. I have a background in nutrition and community arts, with experience across healthcare, community and voluntary settings. I’m passionate about the role creativity, connection and community can play in supporting people’s health and wellbeing. I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning more about the local community and getting involved in the fantastic work happening across B healthy together."

If you see Kayleigh at either the Community meal or one or our many activities, be sure to say hello!

A small group of us had the opportunity to see the spectacular Barnsley Youth Choir today at Greyfriar's Kirk. Not only was the concert a treat, but it was the first time for a couple of us to have been to the Kirk. What a day!

Deepest thanks to Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the complimentary tickets and for their continued support towards our community.
