What happens when national policy comes to the Kitchen Table? 💙

We recently welcomed Maree Todd MSP, Minister for Mental Wellbeing, Public Health, Sport, Alcohol and Drugs; alongside Cllr Paul Kelly, COSLA Health and Social Care spokesperson and our local MSP Simita Kumar MSP - Edinburgh South Western to The Health Agency as they marked the publication of Scotland's refreshed Mental Health and Wellbeing Delivery Plan.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our clients, staff and partners to show what community-led, preventative support looks like here in Wester Hailes – and why having trusted support close to home matters.

👋 We were absolutely delighted to welcome Cllr Paul Kelly from COSLA and Maree Todd, Minister for Mental Wellbeing, Public Health, Sport, Drugs and Alcohol from The Scottish Government on Monday. The day their Mental Health & Wellbeing Strategy Delivery Plan was launched.

💬 A group of our staff, clients and mental wellbeing students discussed The Health Agency 's whole-person approach to mental wellbeing, sharing some powerful stories on the impact this has had on the lives of our community.

💬 This was a great opportunity for our fabulous team to share how The Health Agency serves our community. Including the exciting recent developments we've made at our Sunflower Pantry

Today I spent the day volunteering with the fantastic team at the Sunflower Pantry in Gate 55.

It was a privilege to see first-hand the incredible work they do to ensure local people can access affordable food with dignity. From tinned goods and fresh bread to fruit and vegetables, the pantry helps families and individuals put together nutritious meals at a fraction of the usual cost.

At a time when many households continue to face financial pressures, services like this provide vital support and strengthen our communities. A huge thank you to everyone involved for the difference you make every day.

🛍️ Our trustees Alison and Keara were on hand at Edinburgh Gyle - Morrisons in the Community to speak to customers about our Sunflower Pantry

🛒 The incredibly generous people who did their shopping last Friday donated a massive 3 full trolleys worth of quality items to stock our pantry shelves

💙 We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who stopped to chat and donated on the day - you have provided the ingredients for healthy and hearty meals for our members!
