LGBT Youth Scotland is the largest youth and community-based organisation for le***an, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland.

Celebrate with us on the 11th October!

Coming out is not a one-time event, we come out to ourselves, our friends, our colleges, our community. We might come out more than once as our identity shifts and we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves.

In recognition of this, we are asking for you more than a one-time donation. A regular donation will help us to offer youth groups, one-to-one support and resources for young people and their families.

It is Black History Month. At a time when Black and Brown communities are facing rising hostility and violence, it is essential we stand in solidarity with q***r people of colour, and all people of colour.

Learning and working to be anti-racist is a daily practice and there is a lot to be done to tackle racial injustice in Scotland.

We encourage you to have a look at these projects and organisations working in Scotland and consider supporting them with a donation or a follow.

Time is running out to help shape the future for LGBTQ+ people in Scotland.

Our survey on Life in Scotland for LGBTQ+ young people is open until the 5th October!

We know that that many LGBTQ+ young people face injustice in Scotland. Our research aims to understand this so that we can push for change.

If you are aged 13-25, identify as LGBTQ+, and live in Scotland, we need you to share your thoughts and experiences - take part to have your voice heard.

Pride & Places

Facing homelessness and finding accommodation can be incredibly overwhelming.

It is important that you know that you have the right to ask for help.

Applying for Housing

It can feel daunting applying for housing and there is a lot to get your head around at the start of your process.

Did you know that you have the right to access an out of hours emergency housing services. Every local council has an out of hours emergency phone number. You can call this when their office is closed. It is never the wrong time to seek support.

Making a Housing Application

Understanding what your rights are when making an application for housing can help you feel more confident and ensure you receive the support that you need.

Did you know that you have the right to confidentiality of personal information. Your personal information should be kept private and only shared when it is necessary to do so.

Temporary Accommodation

If you are provided temporary accommodation you have the right to feel safe and report any issues to your local council.

Did you know that you have the right to transfer if accommodation is unsafe. You can request to be moved to different accommodation if you feel you are at risk of harm. This includes harassment or discrimination based on your identity.
