Space works in the areas of health, community care, education, training, social inclusion, and outreach. We manage nine core projects:
• Adult Carers Support Service
• The Beacon Club (Dementia Day Care Service)
• Space Kitchen Cafe
• Training & Development
• Thrive (in partnership with SAMH)
• Vintage Vibes
• Young Carers
• Youth Befriending Project
• Young People's Counselling Service

Our projects support various client groups, including local people and their families; elderly frail people; elderly people with dementia; young vulnerable people and their families; short- and long-term unemployed; prisoners preparing for release; adults with physical and learning difficulties; and adults with mental health problems.

Pie's the limit!

Actually, it turns out there is no limit when it comes to pie.

Our amazing Coorie Food chef has taken our Pick a Pie challenge to its extreme, promising to fill the café counter with a whopping 19 pies.

Visit Coorie Café on Thursday, 22 Oct. from 12 p.m. to taste test any (or all) of the options below.

We're looking for someone to help improve quality of life of young and young adult carers in South West Edinburgh.

Hours: 30 hours per week (must include Wed & Thurs evenings)
Salary: £30,581 pro-rata
Term: Funded to 31 March 2028
Annual leave: 32 days (pro-rata), increasing to 37 days (pro-rata) in year two
Closing date: 5 p.m. Tuesday, 20 Oct. 2026

Each Friday, the Youth Club pool table becomes a battle ground for friendly rivalries, with both groups taking part in regular competitions to see who will take home the trophy that week.

As soon as The Hub's doors open, one of the young people is asking for a pen and paper, eager to list participants. A simple tradition, it's one that brings joy, laughter, and a real sense of belonging.

Over the years, our much-loved pool table has had plenty of use, and is beginning to show its age. We are fundraising £200 to replace it with another table so future Space at The Broomhouse Hub Youth Club members can keep the game running.

Please donate today and help us continue making Fridays at The Hub something to look forward to. Together, we can make a real difference for young people across Broomhouse.
