Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us just how important community, creativity, and connection are for our wellbeing 💚

At ID Derby CIC, we believe the arts can play a powerful role in therapy and emotional wellbeing. Creative spaces give people the opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and feel heard in a safe and supportive environment.

Having a sense of belonging and safety within a community can make a huge difference to mental health. Through art, creativity, and coming together, we can help reduce isolation and create positive spaces where everyone feels valued.

LGBTQ+ Dramatherapy Group: Stories of Self, Myth & Becoming
Step into a creative, supportive space where your story matters. This LGBTQ+ inclusive dramatherapy group invites you to explore identity, self-expression, and personal growth through the rich landscapes of folklore, myth, and fairytale.
Using gentle, affirming therapeutic approaches, we’ll draw on storytelling, role play, and imagination to connect with different parts of ourselves—past, present, and possible. Myths and fairytales offer powerful mirrors: they help us reframe challenges, reclaim narratives, and envision new ways of being.
This is a space where all identities, experiences, and journeys are welcomed and respected. You don’t need any acting experience—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
Together, we will:
• Reclaim and reauthor personal stories
• Explore identity in a safe, non-judgmental environment
• Use creative expression to build resilience and self-understanding
• Connect with others through shared storytelling
Come as you are. Your story is valid, your voice is important, and your imagination is a powerful tool for healing and transformation.

To attend, please complete a referral form Email [email protected] and return it to ID Derby. An assessment will be carried out in due course.

As another season of student placements start to come to an end at ID Derby CIC, we want to take a moment to celebrate the growth, courage, and care each student has brought into our community spaces.

It has been inspiring to witness students learning how to hold space with compassion, confidence, and powerful connection within the community. Through listening, supporting others, and showing up authentically, they have each contributed something meaningful to the people around them and to the wider work of ID Derby CIC.

Placements are never just about experience gained — they are about relationships built, confidence discovered, and the ability to connect with others in ways that create lasting impact. We are proud of everything our students have achieved and the personal growth we have seen along the way.

We wish Holly the very best for the future and look forward to seeing where your journeys take you next. Thank you for being part of the ID Derby CIC community.
