DE23 Active - helping the community of Normanton and Arboretum to get active!

Our DE23 Active - Active Through Football Derby programme helps the community of Normanton and Arboretum to get active.

We are passionate about working with the community to build a vibrant, inclusive and culturally specific space, where individuals of all ages can come together and enjoy a variety of activities

DE23 Active is a five-year programme funded by the National Lottery and supported by the Football Foundation and Sport England.

Our DE23 team has recently produced its Year 3 Evaluation, so you can find out what the programme has been up to!

Categories include:

⚽ Sporting Award – For an individual, group or club that is an asset to Derby’s sporting world.

💙 Health & Wellbeing Award – For an individual, group or organisation that has gone above and beyond to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Derby.

⏰ Nominations close Sunday 12 April 2026

🏆 Winners will be celebrated at a special awards ceremony in June during , and every nominee will receive a certificate recognising their contribution ✨

Last year’s winners were:
🏅 Derby Trailblazers Basketball Club - A volunteer-powered club promoting inclusion, youth development and wellbeing, while inspiring the next generation through coaching and school outreach.
🏅 Connected Perinatal Support CIC - A peer-led organisation offering vital emotional and practical support to families during pregnancy and after birth, with volunteers providing around 11,500 hours of support each year.
