Our purpose is to help change young people's lives. We use the values of rugby and sport in general, to ensure that disadvantaged young people who are disengaged from learning get the best opportunities to build a positive and productive future. Our skilled professionals coach and mentor young people to help them re-assess their lives, focus on developing key life skills and ultimately be equipped

Imagine a world where setbacks are stepping stones. Where a change in direction isn’t seen as failure, but as an opportunity to discover new strengths, talents and passions.

That’s the spirit of National Opportunity Day, and it’s something we see every day through the work of Dallaglio RugbyWorks.

Across the UK, around 1 million young people are not in education, employment or training (NEET). Behind that number are young people who may have faced barriers, setbacks or challenges that have made finding their next step feel out of reach.

At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we use the power of rugby and long-term mentoring to help young people build confidence, develop skills and overcome barriers, supporting them to move towards education, employment and a more positive future.

National Opportunity Day is a reminder that there is always another route. Whether that’s vocational training, an apprenticeship, work-based learning, further education or a different path altogether, there is something for everyone.

No young person should feel left behind. A setback doesn’t define your future. Sometimes, a change in direction is exactly where a new opportunity begins.

As a Senior Programme Coordinator for London, Liv sees first-hand the challenges many young people face during the summer holidays and the difference that having a safe place to go, trusted adults to talk to and a team around them can make.

When schools close for summer, many young people lose access to the routine, support and positive relationships that help them stay engaged throughout the year. For some, that can mean increased isolation and fewer opportunities to take part in activities that build confidence and connection.

Today is Social Media Giving Day, and we're pleased to be shining a light on our campaign.

This summer, we're raising vital funds to ensure young people have access to safe spaces, positive role models and opportunities to stay connected when it matters most. The support they receive over the summer can help build confidence, strengthen relationships and provide a sense of belonging during a time when other support systems may fall away.

For many young people in Hastings, summer can be particularly challenging. Over a quarter of the young people live in poverty, while youth unemployment in the area sits at nearly 9%. During summer, many young people lose access to the structure, support and trusted relationships that help them thrive. For those facing disadvantage or at risk of disengagement, the holidays can bring increased isolation, fewer opportunities and less access to positive activities and role models. That's why our summer camps and interventions are so important.

In this video, filmed at one of our Hastings summer camps, you'll see young people enjoying rugby, building friendships and developing skills that will stay with them long after the summer ends. We asked them why they keep coming back, why they think these sessions are important, and what they've learned through being part of RugbyWorks.

Their answers remind us that these sessions are about so much more than sport. They're about confidence, teamwork, resilience, belonging and having somewhere safe to be.

Today, we're highlighting the importance of Career Taster Days. These experiences give young people the chance to explore different industries, meet professionals, and gain a real insight into the world of work, helping them make informed decisions about their future.

This episode features footage from our recent Career Taster Day with BAE Systems, where young people discovered the wide range of careers available and the pathways into them.

In the first video of our series, our Opportunities Manager Dan talks about how we build employability skills through structured support, mentoring, and real-world experiences, helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and the tools they need for the workplace.

What an incredible afternoon yesterday celebrating the achievements of our amazing young people at our Awards Ceremony!

This year's event was extra special, as it was the first Awards Ceremony designed from start to finish by our young people, for our young people. From choosing the venue and shaping the format to creating an event that truly reflected what mattered to them, our Youth Animators Emmanuel, Tori and Frankie, led every aspect of the planning, making the day a true celebration of youth voice.

It was a privilege to recognise the hard work, resilience and achievements of the young people we support, and to watch our finalists and winners receive the recognition they so richly deserve in front of their families, friends and our supporters.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thank you to our headline sponsor, FLM, whose generous support helped make this event possible.

This summer, we're launching our campaign to raise vital funds for our summer interventions and camps, ensuring young people have access to safe spaces, positive role models and opportunities to stay connected when it matters most. The support they receive over the summer can help build confidence, strengthen relationships and provide a sense of belonging during a time when other support systems may fall away.

Summer isn't a break for everyone.

In the West Midlands, more than one in three children are growing up in poverty, while youth services and community spaces have been dramatically reduced over the past decade. For many of the young people we support across the region, the school holidays can mean losing structure, routine and daily support. For those excluded from mainstream education or facing hardship, the challenges can become even greater. During the summer, many young people face increased isolation, fewer safe spaces to spend their time and reduced access to trusted adults and support networks. These are some of the very issues our summer provision is designed to address.

Hear from RugbyWorks Coach Josh, and one of the young people who attends our sessions as they share why summer support is so important.

A hot one at Moseley Rugby Club last week for the Dallaglio RugbyWorks x Howden Midlands Schools Tournament.

A brilliant day of tag rugby with young people from across the Midlands, many from PRUs and alternative provision who don’t often get the chance to represent a team like this.

After the rugby, everyone came together for a careers fair with some great employers including the local Howden team, National Grid, Serven Trent, and Embark Learning Care Academy, who were having real conversations with the young people about what comes next as well as some fun activities.

And a big highlight, Emily Scarratt, former England international and Rugby World Cup winner, popped down to referee a few games and talk to the young people.

A massive thanks to Howden and Moseley rugby club for supporting the event and making days like this possible.
