Dallaglio RugbyWorks

Dallaglio RugbyWorks We help young people most in need of life changing support so they can go on to have positive and productive futures.

Our purpose is to help change young people's lives. We use the values of rugby and sport in general, to ensure that disadvantaged young people who are disengaged from learning get the best opportunities to build a positive and productive future. Our skilled professionals coach and mentor young people to help them re-assess their lives, focus on developing key life skills and ultimately be equipped

to get into sustained education, employment and training. We have our best interactions outside of the classroom and on the rugby field, where we are changing lives. For more information on our work, visit our website: https://www.dallagliorugbyworks.com/

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say thank you to every person who gives their time, energy and experience to support young people through Dallaglio RugbyWorks. 💙

Our volunteers do far more than support sessions. They help young people see what’s possible.

To our Clearwater mentors in London and Birmingham, thank you for supporting our post-16 students with employability mentoring, career guidance and the confidence to take their next steps into the world of work.

To the companies opening their doors through career taster days, thank you for showing young people opportunities they may never have thought possible, with special thanks to the Howden Game Changers for their continued commitment and support.

We’re also hugely grateful to the volunteers who give their time at our tournaments and events throughout the year — helping create positive, inspiring experiences for every young person who takes part.

And to our Trustees, thank you for your leadership, support and belief in our mission to change lives through sport.

Every conversation, every opportunity and every hour volunteered has a lasting impact.

If you’d like to find out more about volunteering with Dallaglio RugbyWorks and helping young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures, we’d love to hear from you.

At the Chemical Business Association Annual Lunch, our CEO Zenna spoke powerfully about the reality facing young people who are permanently excluded from school, and why urgent action is needed.

63% of the adult prison population and 80% of the youth prison population were permanently excluded from school.
Only 4% go on to achieve 4 good GCSEs.
By age 30, 1 in 4 will have attempted su***de.

These aren’t just statistics. These are young people being written off far too early.

At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we refuse to accept that exclusion should define a future.

Through rugby, sport and long-term support, we work with young people aged 14–19 across England and Wales to build confidence, resilience and employability, helping them believe they can succeed, and giving them the tools to do it.

A powerful message, particularly on Mental Health Awareness Week - “You will not fail.”

Thank you to the Chemical Business Association for the opportunity to share why this work matters, and why investing in young people changes lives.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on the challenges faced by excluded young people.

Young people who are excluded from school are up to 4 times more likely to experience mental health difficulties, with many facing anxiety, low self-esteem, and a lack of consistent support. Without intervention, these challenges can follow them into adulthood.

At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we exist to change that.

Through 1:1 mentoring, we build trusted relationships that give young people someone in their corner, someone who listens, guides, and believes in them.

Our resilience workshops equip young people with practical tools to manage emotions, navigate setbacks, and develop a stronger sense of self.

And through physical activity, we create a positive outlet, helping young people boost their wellbeing, build confidence, and feel part of a team.

This week is a reminder that mental health support isn’t one-size-fits-all. For the young people we work with, it’s about consistency, trust, and opportunities to succeed in environments where they feel valued.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks was proud to be a beneficiary of the Chemical Business Association Annual Floggers Lunch at the Grosvenor House Hotel yesterday.

It was a brilliant afternoon bringing together so many people from across the industry for an important cause, and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. Events like this make a real difference, helping to raise vital funds that support our work with young people who need it most.

A huge thank you to the Chemical Business Association for their continued support and generosity, and to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to making the event such a success.

We truly appreciate being chosen as a beneficiary and are thankful for the ongoing commitment from everyone involved.

Our Opportunities Manager, Dan, recently spoke at the Equal Parenting launch event at Deloitte London.

The event focused on creating space for mums and dads to share childcare and parenting more equally, an important and much-needed conversation.

Dan spoke openly about the realities of raising two children with additional needs, the mental load at home, and how moving from shift work pre-RugbyWorks into a hybrid role has given him the flexibility to take on a bigger role with childcare.

He also highlighted the importance of supportive employers, giving a shoutout to DRW for their flexibility when it comes to prioritising family and childcare needs.

We had a brilliant day in the sunshine at Stockwood Park Rugby Club for our East of England tournament.

We were delighted to welcome 8 schools from across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire for a fun, friendly tournament featuring mixed teams. Special mention to Denbigh, Lealands, and Nobel for being part of the day!

This event was a true team effort, delivered in partnership with Active Luton and the Community Rugby Foundation, who supported throughout and provided referees on the day.

A very special thank you also goes to the Obex Foundation, not only for providing a volunteer referee and supporting on the day, but for their ongoing support of our work across the region. We’re incredibly grateful for your continued commitment to helping young people access opportunities through rugby.

To top it all off, each team nominated a standout player who was recognised with a trophy, well deserved by all! 👏

What a fantastic day we had at the West and North London rugby tournament hosted at Wasps FC.

It was great to see so many young people coming together that don't normally get the opportunity to compete on behalf of their school, and they showed such brilliant teamwork and sportsmanship.

Great to see our founder Lawrence down there too at the club which he called home for many years.

Huge thanks as well to APCOA for supporting our work at the event and helping make the day run so smoothly. Your support makes a real difference.

A brilliant day. Looking forward to the next one.
