Derbyshire Maternity and Health Inequalities Forum Launch, Posters and Registration.

We would like to invite you to the launch event of the Derby and Derbyshire Maternity and Neonatal Health Inequalities Forum. Please see posters attached for sharing.

This new Forum brings together local communities, parents, families, community organisations, healthcare professionals and system leaders to work together to improve maternity and neonatal care and reduce inequalities across Derby and Derbyshire.

Over the past year, women and families from different communities have shared their experiences of maternity and neonatal services. We have listened carefully to what people told us. This event is an opportunity to share what we learned and, most importantly, work together on what happens next.

Why should I get involved?

By joining us, you will:
Hear what local women and families told us through the recent engagement programme
Hear from community groups who helped gather these experiences
Learn about current work taking place across maternity and neonatal services
Meet local Community Maternity Champions
Help shape future priorities and action plans
Have your voice heard and contribute to positive change

What to expect

The event will include:
A community-led co-production activity to create our shared principles and safe space
Speakers from Public Health, and local NHS leadership
Presentations from community organisations involved in the engagement work
An overview of the key findings from the engagement report
Opportunities to get involved in future action planning and improvement work

🏳️‍⚧️ One year on and Derby celebrates its second Trans Pride.

In a world where trans people are still too often talked about, judged and turned into a political debate, today is about something much simpler: people. Our friends, neighbours, colleagues and family members who deserve the same safety, dignity, respect and freedom as everyone else.

Pride matters because visibility matters. Belonging matters. Having somewhere you can simply be yourself without explanation or apology matters.

So today I stand proudly with Derby’s trans community, those I know and love, and those I’m yet to meet.

Be loud. Be joyful. Be safe. And know that you belong here.

Happy Derby Trans Pride 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

🏳️‍⚧️ Happy Trans Pride 2026! 🏳️‍⚧️

Today we celebrate the courage, resilience and humanity of our trans community.

At MOSAICC, our toilets remain gender neutral.

Not because we ignore safety, but because we believe that safety, dignity and inclusion belong to everyone.

Trans people deserve to live openly, participate fully in community life, and access public spaces without being treated as a problem to be solved or a threat to be feared.

Our toilets have lockable cubicles. Everyone deserves privacy. Everyone deserves respect.

We will not start excluding people because of their gender identity, just as we would never exclude someone because of their race, disability, faith, age or sexual orientation.

MOSAICC exists to bring people together across difference, not to divide them.

We recognise that people hold different views, and respectful dialogue will always be welcome. But our commitment is clear: every person who walks through our doors should know they belong, they will be treated with dignity, and they will be safe from discrimination.

To our trans friends, neighbours, volunteers and visitors:
You are welcome here.
You are valued here.
You belong here.
Happy Trans Pride 2026.
With love, solidarity and pride.

Stitch & Fix Hub is on its Summer Break!

As summer gets into full swing, our Stitch & Fix Hub is taking a well-earned break.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stitched, mended, learned, laughed, shared stories and supported one another over the past months. You have helped create something much more than a sewing group. Together we’ve built a welcoming community where skills, friendships and confidence have grown one stitch at a time.

We will miss seeing your smiling faces, but we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back in September 2026.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, there will be a warm welcome waiting for you when we return. So enjoy the sunshine, keep creating, finish those projects you’ve been meaning to tackle (or don’t, we’ll help you when you’re back!), and have a wonderful summer.

See you in September!
