Last Christmas, our incredible community of supporters came together to help fund a sensory unit for the Children's Outpatient Department at the Children's Hospital in Derby.

Thanks to the generosity of local people, businesses, schools and community groups, we reached our ยฃ10,000 target and created a portable sensory space that ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ฌ ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ฑ๐ข๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ž๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ฌ ๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ.

Earlier this week, Actcessible Theatre Company treated children and families to a performance of Sword in the Stone before visiting young patients on the ward.

Through our partnership with Octopus Legacy, anyone aged 18 or over living in England or Wales can access our free will writing service.

There's absolutely no obligation to leave a gift to our charity. However, some people choose to support their local hospitals in this way after taking care of family and friends, helping future generations of patients, families and NHS staff. ๐Ÿ’œ

Hospital life can be demanding for staff as well as patients.

During our Wandering Minstrels programme, funded by our charity and Arts Council England, many colleagues told us that live music:

- Reduced stress
- Lifted morale
- Made ward feel less clinical and more welcoming
- Improved atmosphere
- Helped them connect differently with patients

Thanks to donations and fundraising, Royal Derby Hospital's Breast Unit has access to Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography (CESM).

This advanced technology ๐™ฅ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ซ๐™ž๐™™๐™š๐™จ ๐™˜๐™ก๐™š๐™–๐™ง๐™š๐™ง ๐™ž๐™ข๐™–๐™œ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ, ๐™จ๐™ช๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™จ ๐™›๐™–๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง ๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฎ๐™จ ๐™ฉ๐™ค ๐™˜๐™–๐™ง๐™š and can be used by some patients who are unable to have an MRI.
