Jarrod, Calum, and Elaine have been enjoying meaningful opportunities to work on projects supported by the StFX Centre for Aging and Disability Justice and the GROW Social Participation initiative.

This important work is funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program and is helping us create a new program designed to support seniors with intellectual disabilities.

Through this initiative, we’re proud to offer meaningful opportunities and honorariums to our core members who are helping bring this program to life. Funding has also allowed us to purchase equipment and create inclusive opportunities that empower our community.

We are incredibly grateful for this support, which strengthens our mission of fostering a community that responds to the changing needs of all our members.

At Community Prayer this week, we took time to reflect on what kindness and sharing truly look like in our daily lives.

Through a meaningful activity, we explored how we can care for one another and build deeper connections—living out our L’Arche identity of celebrating the unique value of every person and recognizing our need for one another.

Moments like these remind us that community isn’t just something we belong to—it’s something we create together.

We were so happy to welcome delegates from the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference to L’Arche Antigonish today!

Thank you for spending time with our Cornerstone and Horizons day programs—sharing in drumming, dancing, and meaningful connection. It was a joy to be together and celebrate community, inclusion, and belonging.
