In accordance with HNS seasonal structure, AMHA U13AAA tryout process will begin on Saturday, September 12th. Players must register on PlayFinder, registration closes Wednesday September 9th at 5:00pm.
The cost to attend tryouts is $60.
As per AMHA policy, coaches may begin making cuts after the second skate. Families will be notified of any updates!

Antigonish Minor Hockey Association is currently accepting Expression of Interest applications for the role of U9 Coordinator.

Application deadline is Monday September 7th, 2026 5:00pm.

The U9 Coordinator is responsible as the division head and coordination of the U9 Division including House, Development, Intermediate and Advanced teams ensuring teams operate smoothly and in accordance with Hockey Nova Scotia (HNS) rules, regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities include:
Ensure all U9 teams are compliant with HNS Rules, regulations, policies and requirements
Create and coordinate the U9 House League schedule and communicate schedule changes to team leads/groups.
Organize and oversee U9 division events through the season including the two house jamborees in December and March as well as organizing the rep jamboree with assistance from team representatives.
Communication throughout the season including important information, deadlines, changes in schedules and updates to team coaches and managers.
Act as the main point of contact for U9 Teams and assist with questions and concerns.
Help maintain a positive, organized and enjoyable hockey experience for U9 players and families.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to coordinate multiple teams, schedules and events
Knowledge of Hockey Nova Scotia rules and regulations or willingness to learn them
Experience in minor hockey or volunteer coordination is an asset.

The cost for Conditioning Skates is $40, which must be paid in cash at the door prior to the first ice time.

Next week, X-Men Hockey is teaming up with to help local youth hockey players get ready for the season.

Have some lightly used hockey gear that you no longer use? Bring it to the Saputo Centre on Monday, August 24 from 11-1 and 4-6 and donate it!

Then on Tuesday, August 25th, stop by and pick up any gear you need for the upcoming season.

Join us in helping remove financial and equipment barriers so youth can play hockey 💙
