Meet the six StFX University students who have been selected as recipients of the 𝐗𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨-𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭!

The grant recipients include Isaac Hierlihy, Leah MacDonald, Tejashwini Maganur, Jayden Barker, Ben Collings Mackay, and Gray Pauli.

These six students will have the opportunity to enhance their entrepreneurial skill set through a comprehensive eight-week program designed to foster innovation and creativity.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing individuals who applied for the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐗𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨-𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭. We were truly overwhelmed by the incredible response and enthusiasm shown by each and every one of you. It’s inspiring to see so many passionate, talented, and driven individuals eager to embark on their entrepreneurial journey!

The selection process was a challenging one, as we had to evaluate so many strong applications. After careful consideration, we are thrilled to announce the 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 of the 2025 Xaverian Innovation and Entrepreneurs Micro-Grants:

Attention StFX University Students:

StFX DiscoverBox is thrilled to offer five Xaverian Innovation and Entrepreneurs Micro-Grants of $2500* for the winter term of 2025!

Now more than ever, we need to foster the entrepreneurial spirit on campus and provide students with opportunities to develop projects that address community-focused solutions.

StFX DiscoverBox will guide five micro-grant recipients through problem definition to ideation, business development, testing, and market entry exploration. We will provide the foundational entrepreneurship skills students will require for their new businesses.

Eligibility criteria:

– Full-time StFX student

Student requirement:

– Attend a weekly workshop every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 pm.
– All work must be done remotely and should involve a faculty mentor.
– Commit 150 hours of work towards your project.
– Meet with DiscoverBox staff on a regular basis.
– During a special session on April 1, 2025, students will be invited to pitch their ideas.

Application Process:

By Friday, January 31, 2025, please send us a 750-word description that outlines your project, describing the problem you are addressing. In the application, please identify your year and program of study, and attach a timeline of the project that outlines how you will spend the 150 hours.

Applications will be reviewed and winners will be awarded by Wednesday, February 5th, 2025. The first workshop will be on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025.

*Each grant pays $2,500 for 150 hours of work. Work is to be done remotely and a flexible schedule can be agreed upon.

There are multiple 12-week paid summer internships available, worth up to $6000 per individual or $10,000 per team.

Past Wallace Family Interns have gone on to win major entrepreneurship awards, expand their product reach nationwide, and more!

The StFX DiscoverBox administers the internships, providing services and oversight to the students selected.

- Those who have not received more than $10,000 through external support or investment (i.e., through investors or other competitions)
