Rotary Club of Brisbane

Rotary Club of Brisbane The Club is especially attuned to the nature, needs and potential of our community and of the businesses and professions that we represent as individuals.

The Club tries to analyse the unique problems and opportunities presented by our community and to deal with them in appropriate ways, employing the unique skills and capabilities of our members. The Rotary Club of Brisbane was not sponsored by another Club but was formed under the old system of a Rotary Commissioner travelling to a town and getting together community leaders. In the case of Brisba

ne, the Commissioner was Henry Braddon (later Sir) from the Rotary Club of Sydney. The Club was chartered on 29 May 1923 with a membership of 16. The Charter President was Peter B Macgregor - a leading Barrister. The Club has been responsible for the sponsoring of the following Clubs: Mackay and Townsville in 1926-27 (with the involvement of Immediate Past President Tom McWilliam in conjunction with Rotary Commissioner Sir Henry Braddon of Sydney Rotary Club), Ipswich, Bundaberg (1929-30), Toowoomba, Maryborough, Lismore (1931-32), Fortitude Valley, South Brisbane, Brisbane North, Brisbane West, Brisbane Mid-City.

Nigeria integrated health services at scale. Combining polio vaccination with measles, rubella and essential health services helped them reach every child. The effort reshaped how the country runs campaigns at national scale.

Kyeema Foundation have been amazing partners to support and work with over several years now. They give villages Chickens and teach them how to run a small business whilst substituting their proteins from fish from the oceans which is causing damage to the coral reefs, to now eating chicken.

It teaches them economic development whilst protecting the ocean reefs - a win win!

Our Treasurer of The Rotary Club of Brisbane Celia Grenning calls the chickens ATM’s on legs 🤣.

It has been so incredibly successful this program that we are proud to donate another $5,000 to Kyeema Foundation once again.
