We are PBO registered IT1544/2021 (D) and provide “Section 18A” certificates for tax. We started Redhill Animal Rescue (RAR) to try and help the animals of the Redhill informal settlement when Covid lockdown started in March 2020. Families already struggling to feed their children were often unable to feed their pets. This was planned to be only a short project, but instead has expanded exponentia

lly. It now encompasses not only feeding, providing shelter, assisting with illnesses, vaccinations and sterilisations of pets but providing education and support to the children of Redhill.

🐾 Rex is looking for his new family !

Big dog, bigger heart.

🐶 If you’ve ever wanted a dog that looks like he could guard a fortress but would actually just lick you to death, Rex might be your guy.

Rex is nearly one year old, living in Ocean View.

❤️ He’s loved by his family, genuinely loved which is exactly why they’re making the hardest call.

They know he deserves more than a chain and a small space. That kind of love takes courage.

🐾 He’s great with people, easy with other dogs, and has never been mistreated a day in his life.
(Cats are still an open question, we’ll call it a work in progress.)

🐕 Rex needs a home with space to run, a family to belong to, and the chance to discover what life looks like beyond a chain.

🐾 Meet Elly

A few days ago, our team discovered that this little puppy was heavily infested with worms.

Not the kind of thing you want to ignore, and we didn’t.

Elly was taken in by our partners at TEARS Animal Rescue for a few days of proper care and recovery.

And today ? She’s doing so much better.

This is what the RAR network looks like in action, spotting a problem in the field, getting the right help fast, and watching a small life turn around.

🐕 Elly still has a road ahead of her, but she’s on it !

Every animal we reach, we reach because of you.

🐱 Charlie & Mia

From a shared upturned dustbin in Redhill to a fireplace, a bed, a laser pointer and a garden to call their own.

Charlie and Mia have well and truly landed on their paws.

For those who followed their journey, Charlie’s crushed pelvis, the six weeks of cage rest, the foster family who opened their hearts, this video is your reward.

She’s calm, quiet, and ready to trade street life for a warm couch.

One blanket at a time !

You already know Jillian Altern.

🐾 A regular generous donor who quietly shows up with dog biscuits, canned food, and a whole lot of heart.

But a while back, Jillian set herself a personal challenge, donate 100 blankets to the dogs and cats of Redhill.

🐈‍⬛ Luna has opinions.

Redhill’s most distinguished tuxedo cat does not chase toys like some common house cat.

She does not beg for attention.

She simply poses !

With her Super Catnip Spray (thank you ), and waits for the world to catch up.

🐾 For those who don’t know Luna yet, she’s one of Redhill’s most beloved community cats, and she already has 2,000+ international likes to her name.

Clearly, she knew what she was doing all along.

Thanks to your support, RAR can bring a little extra joy to community animals like Luna, beyond just the basics.

Redhill and Dido Valley have been BUSY !

🐶 Puppies. So many puppies.

🐾 Over the past few months, residents have been proudly walking up to us to introduce their newest family members, tails wagging, paws enormous, completely unaware that life is about to get a lot more organised.
(Sorry, pups.)

Because for us, every new face means getting to work :

🔸 The right food
Growing bodies need proper nutrition, and we make sure every pup gets a solid start.

🔸Core vaccines
Because distemper and parvo don't care how cute you are.

🔸Flea & tick treatment
For the comfort of the puppy and the entire household.

🔸 And a sterilisation plan
So we can prevent the next wave of unplanned litters before it begins.

One puppy. Four steps. A lifetime of difference.
