We are PBO registered IT1544/2021 (D) and provide “Section 18A” certificates for tax. We started Redhill Animal Rescue (RAR) to try and help the animals of the Redhill informal settlement when Covid lockdown started in March 2020. Families already struggling to feed their children were often unable to feed their pets. This was planned to be only a short project, but instead has expanded exponentia

lly. It now encompasses not only feeding, providing shelter, assisting with illnesses, vaccinations and sterilisations of pets but providing education and support to the children of Redhill.

From a shared upturned dustbin in Redhill to a fireplace, a bed, a laser pointer and a garden to call their own.

Charlie and Mia have well and truly landed on their paws.

For those who followed their journey, Charlie’s crushed pelvis, the six weeks of cage rest, the foster family who opened their hearts, this video is your reward.

She’s calm, quiet, and ready to trade street life for a warm couch.

Redhill’s most distinguished tuxedo cat does not chase toys like some common house cat.

She does not beg for attention.

She simply poses !

With her Super Catnip Spray (thank you ), and waits for the world to catch up.

🐾 For those who don’t know Luna yet, she’s one of Redhill’s most beloved community cats, and she already has 2,000+ international likes to her name.

Clearly, she knew what she was doing all along.

what it's like to weather a storm

Redhill and Dido Valley have been BUSY !

🐶 Puppies. So many puppies.

🐾 Over the past few months, residents have been proudly walking up to us to introduce their newest family members, tails wagging, paws enormous, completely unaware that life is about to get a lot more organised.
(Sorry, pups.)

Because for us, every new face means getting to work :

🔸 The right food
Growing bodies need proper nutrition, and we make sure every pup gets a solid start.

🔸Core vaccines
Because distemper and parvo don't care how cute you are.

🔸Flea & tick treatment
For the comfort of the puppy and the entire household.

🔸 And a sterilisation plan
So we can prevent the next wave of unplanned litters before it begins.

One puppy. Four steps. A lifetime of difference.

No need to explain where they're going,
these dogs have done this before, and they cannot wait !

🌊 Beach. Mountain.
Wind in their ears, paws in the water,
the whole pack running free.

🐶 For dogs who spend most of their lives
within the same streets of Redhill and Dido Valley,these outings with Adrian are the highlight of the week.

Think summer camp, but with more sand and considerably less sunscreen !

For three years, every single week,
one private sponsor made it possible for us
to show up in Redhill and Dido Valley with

🔸 230kg of dog food,
🔸 90kg of cat food,
🔸 tick and flea treatments
🔸 and vaccines.

Every Tuesday, without fail.

💔 That support has now come to an end.

Without that funding,
we find ourselves having to reduce our visits
to once every two weeks.

🐾 It's not a decision we made lightly,
the residents know,
the animals are used to seeing us,
and the team feels it too.

This is the reality of running a volunteer organisation with no government funding.

One sponsor can make or break a weekly rhythm that hundreds of animals depend on.
