Great classrooms don't happen by accident. They are built, one intentional decision at a time, by teachers who care enough to keep learning.
We are proud to walk alongside teachers who are doing exactly that.

R100 a month doesn’t change the world. But it could change one person’s future. It might be the catalyst that gives someone the confidence they need to apply for that job and nail the interview.

This April, we’re looking for just 5 people to join the Common Thread, our community of monthly donors, by donating R100 a month.

If you’d like to partner with us, you can do so through the link in our bio. 💚

Last month, we gathered with some of our Job Journey partners and trainers, not to teach, but to learn. To sit in the seats of our participants. To remember what it feels like to be asked, who are you, really?

What came out of that room was bigger than any training agenda. Stories of self-discovery, of breakthroughs in how they see themselves, and a deeper understanding of the people they serve every day. This is what it looks like when change-makers pause long enough to be changed themselves. Swipe to hear it in their own words. 💚

“What kind of future do I want my money to help build?”

It’s a question worth asking as the tax year comes to a close. Tax doesn’t have to be confusing, and it doesn’t have to feel meaningless either.

Cherilyn explains how donating to NGO’s like Common Good before 28 Feb gives you a tax benefit while funding real change - stronger starts for children, quality education, and pathways to employment. It’s a win for you, a win for communities, and a choice you get to make.

Donate before 28th February: https:// www.commongood.org.za/give/ (Link in bio)

A historical moment for Silikamva High School!

A historical moment for Silikamva High School!

13/01/2026

Minister David Maynier visited Silikamva High School this morning to recognise their 100% matric pass rate. From 40% six years ago to 100% today. The Minister highlighted what made it possible: excellent leadership, strong school culture, and the partnership model that supports collaboration schools like Silikamva, today Silikamva showed exactly why this partnership approach matters.

As Silikamva’s operating partner, Common Good is privileged to support the school’s vision and the incredible educators and learners who make this work possible.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025. Your hard work, your community, and your school have created something worth celebrating.

13/01/2026

Not perfect. Not easy. Not overnight.

It looks like extra classes and teachers who stayed late, like students who showed up tired but determined. Like a principal who believed before anyone else did. Like a community that carried each other.

Six years ago, this school had a 40% pass rate. Today, every single student passed.

Silikamva High, you just changed what’s possible.
South Africa, this is what’s possible when we believe in our children.

Congratulations Class of 2025! We are so proud of you.💚

22/12/2025

This year has been a significant one for Common Good. As we celebrated 20 years, we also celebrated the many hands and hearts that have shaped this journey, including yours. We’ve seen hope take root in powerful ways: courage from families, determination from learners, and renewed confidence in young job seekers. Moments like these remind us why this work matters.

This work has always been carried by a community, and we’re deeply grateful for the role you play. Your support, encouragement, and prayers have helped open doors and shape stories of hope, dignity, and opportunity across South Africa.

Thank you for walking with us. And because stories say it best, here are some of the voices and lives you’ve helped uplift this year:
