Last week, directors from across our YMCA association came together at our newest branch, Spring Grove YMCA, for a day of connection, collaboration and looking ahead.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Lieutenant Godfrey from York County, PA Sheriff's Office, for sharing his powerful story of courage, service and sacrifice. And thanks to our friends at Spring Grove Alliance Church and Training Leaders through Athletics for joining us to speak.

It was a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, connect with one another and think about what’s possible when we work together toward a shared vision for the future of the Y.

We’re excited for what’s ahead!

All York County branches will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

The Graham Aquatic Center Outdoor Pool will be open with special holiday hours, weather and staff permitting.

A big thank you to our friends at Traditions Bank, A Division of ACNB Bank !✏️📚

We are so grateful for the incredible generosity of Traditions Bank and their donation of school supplies to the Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA! Because of their kindness, we were able to put together special goodie bags filled with school supplies for all of our students in our Before & After School programs.

We also had the opportunity to visit our awesome friends at York Academy Upper School York Academy Regional Charter School and are so thankful that they welcomed us to set up at both their Lower School and Upper School Back-to-School Nights where we were able to set our local students up for success!

Partnerships like these make such a difference for local families and help us start the school year with excitement, confidence, and the supplies kids need.

💙 Meet Dawn, Our New Southern Community Services Director! 💙

We’re excited to introduce Dawn, our new Southern Community Services (SCS) Director!

Dawn has been part of the YMCA community through her work with our childcare and Southern Community Services programs, and she is excited to continue serving our community in her new role.

As Director, Dawn oversees Southern Community Services, including our food pantry and other assistance programs, while working to connect individuals and families with resources and opportunities that help strengthen our community.

🎓 Dawn recently earned her associate degree in Human Development and Family Studies and is continuing her education toward her bachelor’s degree through Penn State World Campus.

💬 “I’m passionate about helping people feel supported, valued, and connected to the resources they need. I’m excited for the opportunity to grow Southern Community Services and make an even greater impact in the community we serve.”

Outside of work and school, Dawn enjoys collecting houseplants 🪴 and spending time with her family and her dogs. 🐾
