Give Local York

You can help your favorite nonprofit get a head start for 2027 by sponsoring their registration!

Give Local York is all about making a difference in our community, and we believe every nonprofit deserves a chance to participate. Our registration fees help cover the costs of hosting York County's biggest 24-hour day of giving, but we do recognize that this can be a barrier for some organizations. That's where YOU can help. 💛

By becoming a Registration Sponsor, community members and businesses can sponsor the registration fee of the nonprofit of their choice - helping ensure more local nonprofits can participate in the big day and connect with donors, resources, and the support they need to make a local impact.

✨ When we remove barriers, we create more opportunities for our entire community to thrive.

What better way to invest in our community than to inspire the next generation of philanthropists? 💛

Through our Philanthropy in Education [PIE] initiative, we’re partnering with local high schools to give students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the incredible work happening across York County through our nonprofit community.

Here’s how it works...

Students work in teams to research local nonprofits, learn about their missions and the impact they make, and even interview nonprofit representatives. Then, they put their research and creativity to work by developing a persuasive presentation explaining why their chosen nonprofit deserves to receive a prize during Give Local York!

At the end, an audience votes for the team with the most compelling presentation, and the winning nonprofit receives financial support to further its mission. It’s an exciting way to connect students with philanthropy, build valuable skills, and shine a spotlight on the organizations making a difference in our community.

Three local schools are ready to participate:
• Red Lion High School
• Dallastown High School
• Dover High School

Now, we’re looking for individuals and businesses willing to sponsor this project and help bring this meaningful learning experience to life for students.

Interested in making a difference while helping inspire future community leaders? Let's chat! Please reach out to me to learn more about becoming a [PIE] partner!

Together, we can make an impact that reaches far beyond Give Local York! 💛

Straight Talk for Fundraisers strips away the fluff and focuses on the practical, no-nonsense fundamentals of fundraising. This new workshop is built specifically for newly hired development officers, frontline fundraisers, annual fund managers, Executive Directors, and volunteers who carry active donor portfolios and need real-world mechanics to secure major gifts.

The Donor's Perspective Straight Talk teaches fundraising strictly from the donor/prospect's point of view. The entire day is anchored in four foundational principles:
1️⃣ Know Where You Are Going – Directing the conversation with clear outcomes.
2️⃣ Do Your Homework – Understanding your donor’s motivations before you meet.
3️⃣ Be Prepared to Answer Any Question – Anticipating hurdles and doubts with total clarity.
4️⃣ Be Honest – Building unshakeable credibility through authentic transparency.
This isn't about theoretical concepts; it's about giving you the tools, confidence, and preparation you need to own your territory and drive results.

is powered by the White Rose Leadership Institute. Through its various iterations of the organization, the WRLI is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026.

Give Local York brings together hundreds of local nonprofits, businesses, thousands of donors, volunteers, and community members for York County’s largest day of giving. Since its founding, GLY has helped generate tens of millions of dollars in unrestricted funding for local nonprofits while giving organizations the opportunity to build relationships, reach new supporters, and strengthen their fundraising.

Give Local York demonstrates what happens when a community chooses to invest in its own people and organizations, celebrating what a community in action looks like.

The next 20 years of York County’s nonprofit sector depends on the resources available to help local nonprofits succeed. You can learn more about WRLI and its work at bit.ly/WRLI

Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow - We'll be here.

For 20 years, the White Rose Leadership Institute, originally just the York Federal Fellows, has believed that strong communities begin with strong leaders.

Between nonprofit executives seeking to grow their leadership skills, to organizations working together to create bigger impact, to students discovering philanthropy for the first time - the White Rose Leadership Institute has invested in the people who make York County stronger.

As we look towards the next 20 years, our focus remains clear: empower local leaders to build a stronger, more connected, and more generous community.
