At yesterday’s State of Education, a community member asked the Worcester Public Schools superintendent about high school graduation requirements following the MCAS changes, a question that matters to students and families navigating what comes next.

This is why Worcester Education Collaborative creates intentional spaces for dialogue: so community members can learn how education decisions affect their students, voice concerns, ask questions, and hear directly from education leaders.

Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where people feel heard and informed. Thank you to everyone who brought their questions, perspectives, and care for Worcester’s students to this conversation. 💙

We’re excited to share that this year’s State of Education is officially SOLD OUT! 🎉

We’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming interest from our community and for everyone who has committed to being part of this important conversation.

This Wednesday, we’ll bring together educators, families, community leaders, advocates, and partners to examine the current state of public education in Worcester and, more importantly, discuss how we can work together toward a shared vision for Worcester’s students.

We’re looking forward to a timely, thoughtful, and action-focused conversation. See you Wednesday!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this week’s Worcester Education Equity Roundtable. Nearly 50 representatives from youth-serving organizations, along with parents, caregivers, educators, and advocates from Worcester and Boston, came together for an important conversation about recently released MCAS scores and current graduation requirements.

We’re grateful to Rob Curtin, Deputy Commissioner of DESE; Mary Tamer of MassPotential; and members of our MassReads coalition for sharing their perspectives. Thank you as well to Jill Norton of Voices for Academic Equity for co-hosting and helping bring a strong Boston presence to the room.

Most of all, thank you to the community members who showed up, asked questions, and shared their experiences. Your voices are what move this conversation forward. We’re encouraged by the collaboration and momentum, and we look forward to continuing the conversation.
