Today’s Mental Illness Awareness Week theme is Engaging Diverse Communities, and here in northern and central Wisconsin, that includes making sure our rural communities aren't left behind.

Distance, transportation, limited providers, stigma, and simply not knowing where to turn can all make reaching out for mental health support harder.

That’s why community matters.

At NAMI Northwoods, we believe some of the most powerful mental health resources already exist right here: people helping people. Neighbors supporting neighbors. People with lived experience reminding someone else that they don't have to figure this out alone.

Mental health education, support, and hope belong in every community, including the small ones.

This Mental Illness Awareness Week, we're joining NAMI in Turning Science Into Hope by continuing to build connections, reduce stigma, and bring mental health support closer to home.

What a fun day at Harvest Fest in the 400 Block! 🎃🍂

We loved seeing so many kids (and their families!) come out to enjoy the beautiful fall day. We had a blast making pumpkins with the kids and chatting with everyone who stopped by.

It was also a great chance to share a little about Together Marathon County and how it’s helping connect people, organizations and volunteers across our community.

So much fun, so many smiles, and lots of pumpkins! 🎃❤️ Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a great day!

At the AbbyBank Concert on the Square this Wednesday, Peyton’s Promise was delighted to accept a $30,000 grant from the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation ! This grant will help the organization to further our initiative in purchasing food for our local school food pantries. As an organization we are committed to providing the best resources possible for the students and families in our community. Peyton’s Promise thanks Barb, Pam, Tammy, Jen & the Foundation for this wonderful opportunity. Making the World a Better Place, one can at a time!💚 We are also incredibly grateful for the dedication and commitment of our amazing grant writer Lydia, for writing this grant!
