Great day at the New North Summit! It was inspiring to join business, education, and community leaders from across Northeast Wisconsin to celebrate the growth, innovation, and collaboration that continue to move our state forward. The annual summit brings together hundreds of leaders focused on strengthening Wisconsin's economy and communities.

Centergy, Inc. is always proud to support our fellow regional economic development organization, New North, Inc. North, Inc., and the important work they do to advance economic prosperity across the region.

We were also excited to share that Centergy, Inc. and New North, Inc. North are partnering on a new technology-driven veteran attraction initiative designed to help connect veterans with opportunities in Wisconsin. More details will be coming soon!

Most importantly, it was great to reconnect with so many partners, colleagues, and friends who are committed to making Wisconsin an even better place to live, work, and do business.

We were proud to welcome Site Selection Group (SSG) to Central Wisconsin for a regional site evaluation tour focused on business attraction opportunities across our communities.

Over the course of the visit, local leaders, economic development partners, utilities, and community stakeholders came together to showcase the strengths that make Central Wisconsin a competitive location for growth and investment. From workforce and infrastructure to quality of life and available development opportunities, our communities did an outstanding job highlighting what makes this region special.

A sincere THANK YOU to all of the communities, partners, and organizations that participated and helped make the visit a success.

Today, we would like to take a moment to remember and honor Steve Janke, a valued Centergy partner, champion for Wisconsin, veteran, farmer, founder of Semper Forward, and most importantly, a friend.

Steve dedicated his life to helping others find their next mission. Through Semper Forward, he supported thousands of transitioning service members, veterans, spouses, and families as they built new lives and careers in Wisconsin. He also played a key role in helping launch Centergy's Central Command Veteran Attraction Program, creating new opportunities to connect military talent with careers and communities across Central Wisconsin.

Steve believed in showing up, building relationships, and helping others succeed. His passion for people, unwavering optimism, and commitment to service left a lasting impact on our region and state.

We are grateful for his friendship, partnership, and service. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the mission he inspired.

Steve will be deeply missed.

Monday, May 18th we held our final MAHRA meeting for 2025-2026!
Thank you to Angel Laidlaw with Centergy, Inc., who presented on Central Command, an initiative focused on strengthening Central Wisconsin’s military connected talent.

Also, thank you to Neil Kline, with Family Friendly Workplaces, who presented and provided information regarding Wisconsin’s long-term workforce shortage and how employers can become involved to address it.

Twice a year, we bring municipal and economic development leaders and elected officials from Central Wisconsin to learn from guest speakers and one another to improve our ability to serve our communities today and into the future. Yesterday's Central Wisconsin Economic Development Organizations & Municipalities meeting did not disappoint.

A cross-section of municipal leaders and community developers and leaders, including Senator Cory Tomczyk and Representative Patrick Snyder, convened at the fabulous Village of Weston Municipality Center to hear from the League of Wisconsin Municipalities - Zach Vruwink, Toni Herkert, & Evan Miller -provide information about the work the League does, their new Learning Lab, and legislative updates specific to housing.

Many thanks to Greenfire Management Services, LLC and Business Development Manager Maureen Carlson for sponsoring the meeting, and the Village of Weston and Administrator Jami Gebert for hosting at the fabulous Municipality Center!

Central Wisconsin gained support from the Wisconsin State Building Commission as several locations across the region obtained funding for local infrastructure improvement and community development projects!

The $248 million in awarded funds assist community centers and housing, public facilities, economic and workforce training, healthcare and emergency services, and arts, culture, and recreation programs throughout the state.

This new facility will meet growing needs for specialized, complex care, including 48 intermediate beds and a 16-bed observation unit to address patient and ICU expansion needs, advanced diagnostics, and expanded surgical facilities.
