Say hello to the handsome spirit bear known as Laaya (pronounced Thlaya), which means high bush cranberry in Sm'algya̱x, the Tsimshian language spoken by the Gitga'at. This gorgeous big male walked by us a couple of times during one of our days on the creeks that these rare white black bears frequent during salmon season.
