🌟 POWER Academy is back in session!

We're kicking off another year of POWER Academy (Presenting Opportunities While Educating Readiness), a program offered in partnership with Sycamore High School, that connects students with local business leaders and helps them develop the essential skills needed for future career success!

Our first session featured Upstaging, Inc., who led students through an engaging, hands-on experience focused on teamwork and collaboration. Students explored the importance of working together, communicating effectively, and building skills that will serve them in any career path! 🤝

Throughout the program, students will have opportunities to learn from local employers, explore career possibilities, and gain valuable insight into the skills businesses look for in future employees.

👏 A big thank you to Upstaging for helping us kick off this year's program and investing your time and expertise in our future workforce!

🎉✂️ Celebrating an Exciting New Chapter for Opportunity House, Inc! 💙

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of joining Opportunity House, Inc. for a ribbon cutting celebrating the grand opening of their new Workforce Development & Training Center in Sycamore!

For more than 60 years, Opportunity House has been making a meaningful difference in DeKalb County, empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through opportunities for independence, personal growth, employment, and community involvement.

This new center marks an exciting step forward, providing additional space for workforce training, skill development, and opportunities for the individuals they serve.

It's officially Pumpkin Festival time in Sycamore!

One of our favorite weeks of the year is HERE! The 65th Annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival kicks off TODAY, and we're ready for five days of hometown traditions, fall festivities, and community fun!

From decorated pumpkins and festive activities to the Pumpkin Run and Sunday's iconic parade, there's so much to look forward to as our community comes together to celebrate everything that makes Sycamore special.

Whether you're a lifelong Sycamore resident or visiting for the first time, we can't wait to welcome you downtown for a week full of memories!
