The mission of the Sycamore Education Foundation is to enhance and enrich educational opportunities by engaging the energy and resources of the community.

The Foundation receives and distributes private gifts from generous individuals and businesses to enrich educational opportunities for students in the Sycamore Community School District 427 not otherwise available through regular funding resources. The Sycamore Education Foundation supports the more than 3,565 students, faculty and administrators of Sycamore Community School District 427.

This year's Take Root is bringing the energy with live music by Soundcheck, DeKalb County's premier classic rock band, and trust us, if you've seen them before, you already know what kind of night September 12 is going to be. If you haven't? Well, this is your moment. 🎶

Soundcheck hits the stage at MVP's Sports Bar at 7 PM and plays all night until 10, so come early, grab a drink, and get ready for a night of classic rock and community spirit all in the name of Sycamore students. 💚

This year's Take Root is heading to MVP's Sports Bar in Sycamore, and we couldn't be more excited to partner with one of our favorite local spots for SEF's biggest night of the year!

MVP's Sports Bar is the perfect home for Take Root 2026. Come early, grab a drink, and soak in the community vibe before Soundcheck takes the stage at 7 PM. The doors open at 5 PM and we'll be going all night long. 🎸

When a student who struggles with reading finds a way in, that's the magic of a Listening Library. 📚🎧

Watch these Southeast Elementary 5th graders share exactly why they love it so much. 👇🎥

Thanks to a $1,323.81 SEF grant, Southeast Elementary now has a Listening Library in their 5th grade classrooms, giving every student access to audiobooks and new ways to experience stories. Whether it builds confidence in a reluctant reader or deepens a love of books that was already there, these tools meet every learner exactly where they are.
