One of our favorite activities is our Paint 'n' Sip events with our talented friend and artist, Abby. Each time she visits, she brings a new and exciting theme. Today, we celebrated the arrival of summer with an ice cream theme for our paintings. We love seeing everyone's unique interpretations of the artwork.

Abby provided vibrant paint colors to match our favorite ice cream flavors, creating a fun and festive atmosphere. To make the day even more special, she surprised us with delicious ice cream treats. It was a delightful way to enjoy our creativity and the joy of summer together! We are truly grateful for our talented volunteers!

At OH Rec, crafting is a journey of learning and creativity. In our mosaic art lesson, we explored the endless possibilities of using colorful glass pieces. We began by planning our designs, selecting patterns and colors that reflected our personal styles. After preparing and arranging the glass, we learned essential grouting techniques to secure each piece. The stunning results were a testament to our hard work, and the joy of trying something new was truly invaluable.

Our sewing club has us in stitches! We got back to basics this week, learning the essential stitches like the running stitch & the whip stitch. Some of our members, who have taken sewing classes before, shared helpful tips on tying knots and threading needles.
What makes our club special is the sense of community. We gather not just to sew, but to share stories, swap tips, and enjoy each other's company. Every meeting is filled with laughter and creativity!

We’re thrilled to kick off our summer adventures in OH Recreation with a fun-filled day of baseball, America’s favorite pastime! Spending time with friends in the sunshine while cheering on the Kane County Cougars brought us so much joy. We made amazing memories filled with laughter and good times. Here’s to a fantastic summer ahead!

The enchantment of the House on the Rock in Spring Green, Wisconsin, is truly difficult to put into words. Our visit was an unforgettable experience filled with wonder. As we wandered through the various rooms, we marveled at the incredible and eclectic collections on display, ranging from intricate carousel figures to imaginative nautical displays. One highlight of our day was the Infinity Room, an astonishing architectural feat that extends far over the surrounding landscape. We dared ourselves to go as far as we could while taking in the breathtaking views all around us. Each moment was a captivating adventure, leaving us in awe of the creativity and craftsmanship that makes this place so special.

It was a beautiful day in Chicago, with clear blue skies that made it perfect for a visit to the Adler Planetarium on the lakefront. The striking building invites exploration of captivating exhibits about the cosmos, while the outdoor terrace offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of space! The sky show kept us engaged as we learned about the amazing phenomena in our sky.

As part of our fun recycling adventure, we got together and turned some old jeans into the cutest scrap denim wreath! Everyone loved it, and it’s quickly become a favorite among our crafty pals. What a great way to repurpose items, add a personal touch to our decor, and spread the word about sustainability!

Thanks to all our donors who dropped off old jeans and helped us prep for the craft. Plus, we had a blast celebrating one of our friends' birthdays while we worked on it!

There is nothing like a day at the Brookfield Zoo. The sun was shining and the animals were lively, from playful monkeys to majestic lions. The polar bears put on a show for us, swimming back and forth and—I’m pretty sure—smiling for the camera! New friends were made on this outing, sharing laughter and stories as we explored the exhibits together. It was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and wonder.
