Within the last week someone had broke into the building we rent for our furniture outreach. The individual(s) did various damage to the building as well as Love INC items we use for those in need. Our love seats and queen mattress supply was among the damaged items.

We had the privilege of connecting with a family this morning that was really struggling. The needs and situation was difficult, but we have taken steps to help these wonderful people. The needs may be great, but our God is bigger. May he use our volunteers in a way that will genuine encourage this family as they move forward.

Would you like to take part in helping a family and being part of one of the delivery teams before winter sets in the cold gets bad? We would love to plug you in with some seasoned volunteers. Next delivery date is in November either the 2nd or 3rd Saturday time TBD. Come be part especially if you looking for a way to serve in 2027.

Thank you to the many volunteers that helped the last two Saturday's to re-boot our storage location and rearranging. We are not ready to accept in kind goods yet as we still have plenty to help some families. We look to start up a limited collections again in November. At that time we will be collecting all large items like beds (all but king size), loveseats, dining tables, living room chairs, dressers, and limited night stands.

Our church led gap ministries: lamps, linens, kitchenware, baby items, and soon to be clothing will continue to accept donations to help in our connection with those in need.

We recently connected with a family that was transitioning out of homelessness. Living in their car and finding friends that would let them stay a day or two was a challenge. They were able to get their own apartment in DeKalb. A local agency suggested the mom call Love INC DeKalb County. It was a good connection. We had items that were needed, and volunteers answered the call to help. A place to rest, eat, and relax was now possible due to the many donations that have been given at the time. Seven of our gap ministries were in effect, and a total of 16 volunteers made the completion possible from the phone call to the follow up. We love and care for our neighbors!

We are looking for a violin for a youth. Yes, its an odd request, but it could help relax the youth and hopefully help in some decisions and processing things. She enjoys playing and her situation is unlike other situations we serve. The violin should be in good working order not in need of repair. Ready to be used.

Volunteer from Bethany Road Bible Church are working in the office this afternoon to respond to calls that may come in. They are also responding to voicemails, and getting the process going for those seeking support in life.

We are happy to report that we have met 1,235 needs among 250 families already this year! In order to help people with needs for furniture and other items, we need a storage facility to temporary store items that are donated. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to continue using our current storage facility. We are urgently searching for a new storage facility. Until we can locate a new storage facility, we will be unable to pick up donated items. Do you know of a storage facility that might be willing to work with us to help people in DeKalb County?
