This morning we presented Stacy Miro from Brightpoint with a giant check for $5,194! Brightpoint was one of two awardees from our annual Community Grant for Children, Youth and Families (CYF Grant). Brightpoint will use this award to provide essential items to new mothers in DeKalb County - things like car seats, diapers, formula, clothes, etc.

This year we awarded $8,000 total. Since we started this venture in 2017, we've now pushed out over $74,000 into our own community to help children, youth and families. Not bad for a club of about 25 people! Reach out to us if you ever want to join us for this (and more) important work.

The Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary is at it again! Spring road clean up along Annie Glidden near Schnucks. Here's the stalwart crew - gettin' it done! Community service like this is just one of many ways the club contributes to our local community.

The Kishwaukee Rotary Club is proud to announce our eighth year of the Community Grant for Children, Youth and Familiies of DeKalb County (CYF Grant)! We raise money each year at the Taste of DeKalb event in September to then turn around and give the money back to the community through this grant for non-profit organizations impacting children, youth and/or families in our county. The 2026 application window is open from March 1 to March 31. Applications are on our website at kishwaukeerotary.com. We're looking forward to helping meet important needs of the community this year!

We are proud to announce that on December 6, 2025, the District Nomination Committee elected one of our own, Rudolf M. Sterkel, as District Governor Nominee Designate for Rotary District 6420. This marks a historic moment for Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary, as it will be the first time in our 34-year history that a member of our club has been selected to serve as District Governor.

Rudolf is scheduled to take office on July 1, 2028, serving during the 2028–2029 Rotary year. Congratulations, Rudolf!!
