CAIR Washington

We continue to stand with our sister Ilhan Omar in the face of these politicized and relentless attacks, and always will.

Today marks 3 years of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

We know many of our students here in Washington State are engaged in acts of protest, anticipating student walkouts today we sent a guidance letter to district leaders.

Key guidelines include:
1. Do not conflate hate speech with protected political speech
2. Do not erase the Palestinian experience or portray an imbalanced level of suffering
3. Do not categorize a protest as unsafe or inherently discriminatory because of the identity of students organizing it, or their protected political speech

Legal win from the CAIR Washington legal team! A family will be reunified💙

Children born to a naturalized U.S. citizen may acquire U.S. citizenship through that parent if the parent was physically present in the U.S. at least five years prior to the child’s birth by filing a Consular Report of Birth Abroad to the Dept. of State.

After the DOS rejected multiple CRBA applications this client had filed on behalf of his son due to insufficient proof of his presence in the U.S., CAIR-WA assisted him in a new application and was able to obtain the necessary records through a FOIA lawsuit.

The records obtained through the litigation proved eligibility for his son’s CRBA application, which was approved last month! CAIR-WA is pleased to share that the family will be reunited very soon.
