Today, the Sound Transit Board is discussing a proposal to close the $34.5 billion gap on the agency's long-range plan. Together with our partners in the Build the Damn Trains coalition, we sent a letter outlining how they can keep working to deliver the full vision of Sound Transit 3.

We're asking the board to:

- Advance every project with a clear path and defined timelines
- Implement permitting reform now
- Develop a 2027 and 2028 state legislative strategy
- Partner with WSDOT and local jurisdictions on the projects voters approved, not add-ons
- Break ground in West Seattle
- Deliver the Graham Street and Boeing Access Road infill stations

Our coalition is out in force at today's meeting, and we'll be at the May 28th vote and every meeting that follows, ready to be partners in delivery and honest about what the moment requires.

Every piece of our streets, trails, and transit takes advocacy. Last year, in partnership with Hopelink, we hosted a Rural Transportation Advocacy 101 Workshop for residents of Snoqualmie Valley. Attendees heard from an inspiring panel and practiced giving testimony to advocate for their own transportation needs.

We’re excited to share that this workshop is back for another year — this time at North Bend City Hall on March 14! Tag anyone you know who might be interested and register here: https://transportationchoices.org/join-tcc-for-a-rural-transportation-advocacy-101-workshop-in-snoqualmie-valley/

Thank you to the Vision Zero Network for this roundup on how states and cities can collaborate to reduce traffic violence.

We're honored to have our advocacy for a Megaproject for Safety included, along with other examples of how Washington is leading the way in creating safe systems for all.

Across the country, more attention is being focused on how states and cities can better align goals, share data, and design for safety as one system rather than many. Below are 10 concrete ways to accelerate that shift — and make safe streets the rule, not the exception.
