✂️🌳 Celebrating a new community space in Clark County!

We were honored to join local leaders and community members for the ribbon cutting of Curtin Creek Community Park. This new park will provide opportunities for recreation, connection, and outdoor enjoyment for residents for years to come.

Thank you to Clark County Public Works for sponsoring and leading this project. We were also pleased to celebrate alongside Senator Adrian Cortes and Representative John Ley McClintock, whose attendance helped mark this important milestone.

Projects like Curtin Creek Community Park demonstrate the value of investing in local parks and outdoor spaces that strengthen communities and improve quality of life.

A great day touring the Malaga Park Acquisition Project in Chelan County with Rep. Burnett and local partners!

This project is an excellent example of how the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program (WWRP) helps communities create new outdoor recreation opportunities. Phase 2 of the acquisition was funded through a recent WWRP Local Parks grant, and Chelan County has applied for additional WWRP funding in the upcoming biennium to begin developing the site into a community park.

Thank you to Chelan County Natural Resources Department and Chelan County Commissioner Overbay for hosting the tour and sharing their vision for this future park. We were also glad to be joined by Chelan County Commissioner Kevin Overbay and TREAD Executive Director Mat Lyons.

Projects like Malaga Park help expand access to outdoor recreation while enhancing quality of life for local communities. We look forward to following its progress!

Thank you for supporting the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition during GiveBIG 2026!

We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and followed along over the last few days. Your support helps protect and expand parks, trails, wildlife habitat, working lands, playgrounds, and outdoor access across Washington.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and a matching pledge from our Board of Directors, we came close to reaching our $30K goal- which means there are still matching funds available. Every additional gift is still doubled in impact until we reach our goal. If you missed GiveBIG or have been considering supporting this work, there is still time to help protect Washington’s spectacular outdoors: https://www.wagives.org/donate/WildlifeRec

Right now, more than 200 outdoor projects across Washington are awaiting funding. Every dollar strengthens advocacy for the parks, trails, wildlife habitat, and community spaces Washingtonians care about most.

Thank you for believing in our work and for being part of this community.

We have $22K left to reach our goal before midnight- Your support keeps Washington’s outdoors accessible, protected, and thriving. And today, your impact is doubled: every donation is matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000 thanks to our generous Board of Directors.

Bill and Beverly love parks! And we know you love them too. Our team and Coalition members work hard to secure funding for playgrounds and projects across the state. Your GiveBIG donation will help us successfully advocate for 200+ new outdoor projects that are awaiting funding. It is up to us to bring them to reality.

Your outdoor moments begin with our advocacy work indoors - and today were asking for your support so we can continue to take care of the meetings, and you can take care of making memories outdoors!

From Pearrygin State Park in the Methow Valley, to Tenino’s public swimming quarry, to wildlife habitat and preserves in the Blue Mountains- these places (and hundreds more) are possible because the Coalition shows up where decisions are made and funding is won.

Today is the last day of Give Big 2026- an opportunity to help protect Washington’s lands for future generations.
