CANP Orange County | Heat Safety Update

☀️ Orange County is experiencing a significant heat wave this week. Inland areas are under an Extreme Heat Warning through Thursday evening, with dangerously hot conditions and limited overnight relief.

Temperatures are expected to gradually ease through the weekend, but warm conditions will continue into next week. Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.

• Drink water regularly!! even before you feel thirsty
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
• Seek air conditioning or a cool indoor location
• Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing
• Check on children, older adults, neighbors, and anyone at increased risk for heat illness
• Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle

⚠️ Know the warning signs: dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness, confusion, or unusual fatigue can signal heat-related illness.

If someone develops confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures, or very high body temperature, call 911 immediately.
