📞 When Rosa’s phone rang, everything changed…

Her daughter was facing challenges that made it impossible to care for her two young children. Without hesitation, Rosa stepped in, opening her home and her heart to her grandchildren đź’š

But raising young children again brought challenges she never expected. Between financial pressures, school schedules, medical appointments, and the emotional needs of two children navigating uncertainty, there were moments when she wondered how she could do it all alone.

That’s when Olive Crest came alongside her family.

With counseling, parenting guidance, and practical assistance, Olive Crest helped create the stability her grandchildren needed to heal and grow ✨ Little by little, bedtime worries became bedtime stories, anxious mornings turned into confident walks into school, and joy returned to their home.

Today, Rosa’s grandchildren are thriving because someone refused to give up on them 🫶

Together, we celebrated the impact that one person can have in the life of a child or family in crisis. From powerful stories of hope to Nick Vujicic’s inspiring message, we were reminded that real change starts when someone chooses to care.

Some heroes don’t wear capes. Sometimes they’re 23-year-old dads doing everything they can to give their children a brighter future 🚀

When Tristan suddenly became the sole caregiver for his two young boys, he faced challenges he never imagined. Between providing for his family, learning how to navigate parenthood on his own, and building a stable future, there were moments when he wondered if he was enough.

With support from Olive Crest through parenting classes, life-skills coaching, financial guidance, employment support, and a caring community, Tristan discovered he didn’t have to do it alone 🫶

Today, his home is filled with family dinners, soccer games, bedtime prayers, and hope for the future. He earned a promotion, enrolled in trade certification courses, and is showing his sons every day what perseverance, responsibility, and unconditional love look like.

đź’š When Natalie called Olive Crest, she had reached the end of her strength.

A devoted single mother of two, Natalie had recently lost her job after taking time off to care for her youngest son following an emergency surgery. With rent overdue, bills piling up, and no family nearby to help, she feared she might lose not only her home, but also her children.

But one difficult season did not have to become a life-altering crisis.

Through Olive Crest's prevention services, a trained host family welcomed 8-year-old Noah and 4-year-old Emma into their home for a short time. While the children enjoyed bedtime stories, family dinners, and afternoons at the park, Natalie was able to focus on finding employment, stabilizing her finances, and rebuilding her future.

With practical resources, encouragement, and support every step of the way, Natalie found her footing again.

Just weeks later, she was back to work, caught up on rent, and ready to welcome her children home.

Today, their family is together, stronger than before, and moving forward with renewed confidence.

👉 PROMiSE® is the Prevention and Restoration Of Minors impacted by Sexual Exploitation.

A Year of Impact:
• 8,517 visits to local drop-in centers
• 1,398 youth served through drop-in center support
• 78 youth provided with safe housing

Over the past year, PROMiSE® has expanded through drop-in centers, rapid response teams, safe housing, and dedicated community partnerships, creating pathways to restoration for youth in crisis ✨

Congratulations to Jason Adam on being named the Padres’ 2026 Roberto Clemente Award nominee! ⚾️👏

The Roberto Clemente Award recognizes players who make an extraordinary impact both on and off the field, and Jason embodies that spirit every day.

Through his partnership with Olive Crest, Jason has been a powerful advocate for children and families in crisis, helping ensure kids in our community have access to safe, loving homes when they need them most. His generosity, leadership, and commitment to serving others continue to change lives across San Diego.

Since joining the Padres in 2024, Jason has provided special game day experiences for our children and families, started the campaign to fund safe nights for kids in crisis, helped launch our downtown drop-in center for homeless youth, and raised critical awareness to prevent and end child trafficking.
